SB-374 Firearms: assault weapons.(2013-2014)

Here's another one that is way over the line. We missed the first vote but need to add this to the top. I have 2 guns I have owned for over 30 years that fall under this BS. Both are hunting rifles that I never use anymore.

If I only new this would happend I would of never donated my time and energy for his cause. I will never vote for a Democrat again!.

2 bills to be heard on 4-30-13 that we need to SUPPORT!!!

AB1230 Reverse the Ban on Hound Hunting for Bears and Bocats that passed last year.

AB1097 This bill would state that the primary function of the DFW is to provide services to persons who fish and hunt in the state.

Last I checked it looked like one had been gutted and amended, but I'm not sure just what I was looking at, it made no sense, but what in government does?

An update would be nice.

I'll bet the author was pissed the bill was amended into a completely different bill. And still has their name on it.

Both negative bills listed in OP were enrolled. Meaning they passed all the legislative process. Currently at the Governor's desk. Only way to stop them now is to ask for VETO from the Governor.

See this thread for up to date info (AB 1213 is NOT listed there):

Redding, CA -(Ammoland.com)- The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) will hold a public workshop Saturday, July 19 to discuss the implementation of the lead bullet ban.
The workshop will be held at the Community Room at City Hall, 777 Cypress Ave. in Redding from 7-8:30p.m. A CDFW representative will detail a proposed implementation plan, the PowerPoint is available on the CDFW website.
Following the short presentation, interested parties can make comments and provide input that will help shape CDFW’s final recommendation to the Fish and Game Commission, which CDFW anticipates presenting at the Commission’s meeting in Sacramento in September.
Last year, Governor Jerry Brown signed AB 711 requiring that the Commission adopt a regulation to ban lead ammunition in the state no later than July 1, 2015, with full implementation of the ban to occur no later than July 1, 2019. Governor Brown has directed CDFW and the Commission to work with all interested parties in order to produce a regulation that is least disruptive to the hunting community.
In order to determine what is least disruptive to hunters, CDFW has been reaching out to interested parties this year in a number of ways, including question and answer sessions at sportsmen’s shows, meetings with hunting organizations and now a series of public workshops throughout the state. A public workshop was held in Ventura in April and in Eureka in June. After Redding, planning is underway for workshops later this year in Rancho Cordova (Sacramento area), San Diego, Fresno and Riverside/San Bernardino.

Default California: Workshop on Implementation of the Lead Ammunition Ban on Saturday, July 1

Here's the NRA notice that has a link to the PowerPoint that apparently will be given during the presentation.

California: Workshop on Implementation of the Lead Ammunition Ban on Saturday, July 19

Your Attendance is Needed

The California Fish and Game Commission is continuing to explore ways to implement the statewide lead ammunition ban. In 2013, the California Legislature passed Assembly Bill 711 to ban the use of traditional ammunition for all hunting in California.

The Commission is required to adopt regulations to ban lead ammunition in California no later than July 1, 2015, with full implementation of the ban to occur no later than July 1, 2019.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) will hold a public workshop on Saturday, July 19, to discuss the implementation of the lead ammunition ban. This workshop will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Community Room in City Hall at 777 Cypress Avenue in Redding. We encourage all hunters and recreational shooters to attend this meeting to express your concerns about the proposed options that will be discussed there before the regulations are drafted. Click here to view the Commission’s powerpoint presentation.

For more information about the NRA opposition to bans on traditional ammunition and the truth behind the anti-hunting groups’ agenda to ban lead ammunition, please visit HuntForTruth.org.

We will continue to keep you informed as the CDFW finalizes the proposed AB 711 regulations. Individuals and organizations may e-mail comments to wildlifemgmt@wildlife.ca.gov (please use “Non lead implementation” in the subject line) or mail correspondence to: CDFW, Wildlife Branch, Attn: Non lead implementation, 1812 Ninth Street, Sacramento, CA 95811.

Default FYI to all .... it's spreading

Just ran across this today. Colorado considers a lead ban on hunting and meets today and tomorrow to consider the proposal.

Tomorrow, the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission will be meeting in Burlington to discuss a list of hunting-related issues, with a potential ban on lead ammunition being one of the main topics.
