no no no... you've got it all wrong. 16" perm'd is the way forward. Swiss stock. Feels just like a 551.

found some w/ rivet. Yes, work fine WITH federal automatch ammo. Like them cause they handle like my real rifle mags, in mag pouches from belt- same size, fit better than black dog.

Getting close to completing my first rifle build. The Sig is a joy to shoot and is definitely a gateway drug to moving up into the higher calibers.

^^^ Nice looking setup. Did you fit a MOE grip on there? How difficult was it?

I'm drooling here. Those are some nice looking 522. For the Bay Area owners, do you know any place that has them in stock that I can caress... I mean try out?

High Bridge Arms in San Francisco had one in stock last time I was there. Big 5 carries them also and puts them on sale from time-to-time. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a labor day sale.

My little mess. And yes, I'm living out of a hotel while I'm working at Pendleton. One day they might let me come back home...

Black Dog mags, Magpul 2ng Gen BUIS, Aimpoint PRO, Double Diamond stock adapter, Magpul CTR stock. Thinking about a Samson foreend, but kind of liking the way it is now.

She's a bit naked, but once christmas comes around she will get some accessories.

My first firearm purchase, and from what i see and read from people looks like I made a good choice, going to the range after work today. Glad to see so many with this rifle.

As a newbie, what would be a decent quality, easy on the wallet optic for this? (RDS/acog) I will post again once i get my accessories mounted

The front post is maxed out, but it shoots a nice grouping with buis. I had a cheaper pair on it at first, and they would not line up. The magpuls ended up working. If I were going to do it over again, I would have used the stock iron sights, and left it that way. Right now, my Aimpoint is on my LR-308, so i'm using a Tru-glo red dot. Works pretty good with it, but i might put a different red dot on it.

Bumping from the dead.

I purchased one of the last NOS 522's from Big5's inventory courtesy of notification from a local Calgunner here:

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1364472

Sig 522 Classic with 16" BBL. It's the later variant with the revised dummy gas block, but still has the telescoping stock instead of the fixed Swiss style stock. I'm going to put a .22LR rated scope on it and let the little lady enjoy yourself. It's still MY rifle though lol.

If anyone has a 20" BBL, Swiss stock, or old style dummy gas block lying around, I'd be glad to take them off of your hands.

I am also willing to pay you to swap gas blocks with me. I want to use the MFI Versapod adapter on the 522.

Thanks

Example of the MFI Versapod adapter on my 556.
