Default Fresno area coach

I am interested in learning to shoot long range and I was wondering if anyone in the Fresno area that would be willing to help me learn and teach me some things.
have been shooting all my life I build my own rifles and handload my own ammo but have not had anyone to learn from for long range so just seeing if there is anyone that would let me tag along maybe and learn some stuff.

Do you know of a place around fresno where you can do some 400+ yds shooting? If so, pm me. I can go over a little bit of long range marksmanship with you.

I think the only area close enough to do long range would be the coalinga range. I'd be interested in learning or picking up tips as well.

Default appleseed

if you guys are wanting to know about fundamentals of shooting distance, appleseed is a good and cheap way of doing it.

also a good place to learn inches / minutes / clicks to adjust for distance. look up the appleseed section. next fresno class is in september, not sure when the next one out of lemoore is going to be, coarsgoald and mariposa just got done

I feel the best way to learn to shoot is in competition. I know the idea of competition makes some people nervous, you don't need to worry about it as the club matches are a fun atmosphere and it gives you the chance to do a lot of shooting. I run the monthly club matches at Coalinga. We shoot a 3X600 which is a 600 yard match done 3 times the third Saturday of the month (every month except July and August as most of the team is at Camp Perry then). It is a good way to start learning about shooting at longer distances (although technically 600 yards is mid range). We usually have some excellent shooters competing and we are always willing to help new shooters. After the match if you are want to stick around we can spend time working on any problems you are having etc.
