Default Salient Arms International filing bankruptcy?

http://www.breachbangclear.com/salie...es-bankruptcy/

https://www.inforuptcy.com/filings/c...y-services-inc

David Reeder

According to a source close to the company, Las Vegas-based Salient Arms International has declared bankruptcy. Salient has been recognized for several years now as a source for what some have described as “extremely high end” firearms, including the SAI BLU Glock/M&P melange, SAI GLD 12-gauge, and the SAI GRY carbines and SBRs.

We have been unable to fully confirm this, as attempts to obtain a statement from Adrian Chavez, co-owner of Salient Arms, or anyone on his staff have been unsuccessful. However, the State of California does show a bankruptcy filing on the part of Salient Security Services, SAI’s parent company. According to those records, a Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition (Bankruptcy Petition #: 1:17-bk-12391-MT) was filed with the California Central Bankruptcy Court on September 7th, with an asset range of $100,000 – $500,000.

doesnt surprise me at all. i do however feel bad for the guys who bought SAI firearms thinking they would either sell or service them in the future.

It was a non operational company that had nothing to do with Salient Arms gun manufacturers

A "non operational" company asserting over 100K in assets and asking for relief from outstanding debt(the only reason to file BK as opposed to just dissolving) is kind of weird.... Just sayin'

you prob have inside knowledge of the issue then because all external signs point to them being the same company.

it wouldnt make sense given their website's IP history and web pages that have the same branding.

Not really. It's common knowledge they moved to Nevada years ago and started a new corporation. Salient Security Services in CA is just officially closing however they have not been operating for years since they moved to Nevada. In 2015 they became Salient Arms International based in Nevada.

Two completely different corporations.

i see, so youre saying they split. salient arms international was in CA, i went there awhile ago and had my glock 34 outfitted with their new trigger offering.

they didnt start a new corp in NV but maybe they split from their partners in CA?

Hahaahha been waiting for this. Salient bounced after poor sales, all the dudes who remained in CA created Agency, and i expect a similar fate.for Agency.

Salient was always doomed to fail from.the beginning.

So instead of paying their bills, and conducting an organized closure of the business, the way honorable people conduct themselves, they are going to stick it to their creditors here with a chapter 7 liquidation and then just walk away...

Not exactly.

Agency was formed by the unappreciated talent that made Salient work. They split off a long time before Salient left Oxnard.

It helps that their work is a thousand dollars cheaper too. Maybe this will keep them in the mainstream market longer.

Boresight Solutions has plenty of evidence that salient guns dont work but feel free to explain what you are referring to in more detail. I have owned a couple Salient products, though no "custom" guns. Their BCG left alot of room for improvement. I now shoot a stock glock after coming from guns far more custom than anything Salient or Agency could hope to put out and im completely satisfied with my 19

Ok, and?

I never once said I supported them. I simply stated it's not the company everyone believes it is.

Did you see the Edit in the first link? Practically quotes Baboosh verbatim:

Quote:
Edit: I was finally (perhaps not surprisingly) able to establish comms with Adrian Chavez at Salient shortly after this original article went live — regarding an SAI bankruptcy, he is advising nothing could be further from the truth. The confusion, according to Chavez, stems from an original DBA (Doing Business As) affiliated with Salient Security Services of California. That Salient Arms International (of California), says Chavez, was a part of Salient Security Services, and been inactive for three years now; he says it has nothing to do with the current, active, incarnation of the company: Salient Arms International Inc., of the State of Nevada. According to public record, the latter is a Nevada based corporation that has been in existence since May of 2015.

Rumors of a bankruptcy, he says, are far from the truth. By his description, this information likely stems from certain people trying to drive a specific narrative.

Salient Security Services, a long dormant organization, is declaring bankruptcy, but this, according to Chavez, is part of a “…tidying up process.” This is, he advises, a calculated step necessitated by an evolution that will be bringing significant changes to Salient and others in the firearms/tactical industry very soon.

“It’s not even the same company,” Chavez says. “It has nothing to do with firearms, or the company we’ve now been operating for years.”

I think what is being pointed out is that instead of just closing the business out they are taking a BK and leaving debtor's high and dry, which seems... interesting.

Just pointing out that from a business ethics and morals standpoint, its not the company or people everybody may have thought either...

Yeah, thats nice and all, but the fact remains that instead of just dissolving the business they are declaring a BK claiming 100K in assets and asking to walk away from all debt, which is... odd.

I wasn't speaking to Quality or performance.

Point one is that Agency Arms is not the dregs of Salient, they split off years ago.

Point two was that pricing is much lower at Agency compared to Salient, which may lead them to being successful for longer.

I own multiples from each company because, have known many of the involved individuals for years, and can say that YMMV. I've got a collection of Agency Glocks, am selling off my Salient handguns and never kept any of their ARs.
