Default Best 9mm carbine that takes a glock mag?

I participated in Freedom Week 2019 and got some mags for firearms I don't even own yet(Thanks Judge Benitez!).

One of them is a Glock 33rd magazine compatible w/ model 17, 19, 26 and 34s.

In addition to wondering which of those Glocks I should get, what's the best 9mm carbine that takes this mag?

Looking for a fun plinker & range toy, and cool factor is also nice.

There are other options but Ruger is your best bet. For the cool factor check out the new PC9 with the aluminum forearm.

My dad has the PC9 and he absolutely loves that thing.

There are many AR 9 options to build or buy. Get a lower from PSA, Spikes, New Frontier, Lone Wolf, Angstadt Arms. Decide if you want Glock or Colt magwell. Put on an appropriate upper of choice. HAVE FUN!

I like my sub2k, but I shoot my Ruger pcc way more than the sub2k.
My next 9mm carbine will be the JT-9 which also takes glock mags

I got a PC9 and once I stuck the happy stick in I was disappointed by the amount of wobble on the mag once it is seated. It shot just fine but gave me thoughts of something breaking. Maybe that’s the case with all carbines that take Glock mags but I suspect something with a deeper magwell would remedy the issue. I’m looking at a cmmg resolute 9mm. Cmmg confirmed it can shoot .40 just by swapping uppers. Cool option if you are stocked up on.40 and 9mm.

op asked for the best and people say ruger carbine? lol.

the ruger is functional and a solid performer for the price tag. it isnt fun or cool. it also lacks several features to make it a fun range gun.

i have a jp enterprises gmr-15 and a scorpion now. the scorpion obviously doesnt take glock mags but the jp does. if i had to do it over again, i would not have bought the scorpion. i am saving up now to get the taran tactical mpx.

i forgot to mention that noveske has a cool one come out. i havent shot it yet but it looks good and is getting good reviews. prob is that it doesnt use glock mags. some word about how colt mags are feeding better to carbines. i am not sure of that as i have not had a problem with my jp.

The ar’s that people post are either in free states, have 10 round blocked mags, or have RAW. You won’t be able to run pistol grip with hicap. You would have to do monsterman grip, grip wrap, or thordsen stock. I’d get the Ruger

options. most notably - trigger, your favorite stock, different barrel options, etc.

basically everything an AR platform allows you to do over a proprietary built firearm.

Yeah, it isn't an AR... I was looking at an AR9 for years. For some reason never jumped in. I was always looking for old PC9's too, but wanted one that was like-new if I was going to pay $750 or whatever they went for, and didn't really want to be stuck with my four or five P95 mags. When the Ruger PCC came out I didn't hesitate. I guess I am sick of featureless AR's... or I have enough of them.

the one pictured isnt mine. mine is featureless.

you also cant use standard mags with a mag locked rifle. that makes it an AW.

I too also stocked on Glock mags in April, I built an AR9 using a Stern Defense adapter to mil spec lower. If i didn't have a stripped laying, I'd gotten a Spikes Tactical AR9 lower for $170 from Gunfighter Tactical. End Cost would have been roughly the same.

The Stern adapter has last round bolt open which is really nice, can run drills like normal 556 rifle, the mag release is in different spot though. ZERO malfunctions at all, close to 1.5k rounds though it already

I shot latest version of Ruger PC9 with Mlok rail. Reset was longer than AR platform, so I shot it slower then my build. And didn't seem as accurate.

Built with JP 16" barrel
SLR Ti mini Comp 1/2"x 36 threads, adds 1.24" length
Taccom3G bolt (don't like the upgrade gas key as it can fall out the receiver when taken down)
Foxtrot Mike buffer assembly, 6.5oz buffer
Colt Delta ring assembly and Castle nut
M&P LPK minus trigger
AGL ACT trigger with JP yellow springs
Cheap Sig Romeo red dot
Raptor Gray charger
Mapgul Gray rifle length plastics
Sparrow grip, like it so far over the SI Mega fin I have on other builds, ambi safety is a must for cali grips.

Overall it shoots FAST and is laser accurate inside 25. Haven't played longer range with this build.

WORD OF CAUTION!! whatever you get will be a bullet HOSE/HOE!! You will be shooting ammo at an alarming rate but hey the cost is 1/3 of 556

It depends on how you feel about featureless AR grips.

CMMG has a radial delayed blowback AR-15 derived gun which should stay parked on target like an HK MP5/94, but has a last round bolt hold open, drop free magazines, magazine well funnel, and relatively reasonable price.

Otherwise you want the featureless Ruger. Pure blowback designs like it and most AR-9s have more felt recoil than .223 and move around more because of the heavy mass in the bolt and buffer.

I wouldn't opt for a traditional AR9 which is the worst of both worlds in California - pure blowback with a fin or micro grip.

I have to disagree, this is pretty cool looking:

For attention at the range and an ultralight, pull out a Kel Tec Sub 2000 Gen II and everyone will come over for a look see and ask to shoot it.

For an inexpensive entry into the world of PCC's, go with the Ruger PCC with the new aluminum handguard. But be warned, it's heavy.

For a competition gun, get a CK Arms 9MMAR PCC.

I’ve been looking at the Foxtrot Mike’s dedicated 9mm upper and lower. Also Wolfpack Armory. I know FM makes good stuff. Then go featureless with our grip and a nice trigger. Can swap to free-state when shooting in NV.

While short enough to be a carbine, I doubt this is what you think of as far as fast handling.

At the same time, the cool factor is off the charts!!

base price of: $1749

yeah no.

might be cooler looking than the ruger for now since you can buy ar15 handguards and other parts, but for fun, i would rather have the ruger since i don't have to do any featureless conversion like you would with the JP rifle.

you would have to pin that stock or get a non-adjustable stock, then a fin grip or one of those angled grip things to make it not a "pistol grip". of course assuming the OP wants to drop magazines easily.

Hard to beat the PCC. I've owned and loved pistol caliber carbines for years. There's a lot of value in Ruger's carbine. I currently only own one, but as soon as they come out with a lighter version, or a 10mm that takes Glock mags, my one will multiply.
