i'm batting 1 for 2 with PSA.1st build went fine, got the kit in about a week(this was three years ago, before they got their growth spurt). latest build it took three weeks to get to me and roll pins were out of spec, had to purchase roll pins from a local hardware store. so i'm on the fence. can't beat the price, but they have poor comms and slow shipping time. but that's to be expected, since everyone buys their products that are well priced.

That's exactly the point. It's thirty bucks. It works fine. It's as good as any GI kit. You can't buy the springs and pins and grip for $30 on their own anywhere. Springs and pins and springs and pins. They're not "better quality." They're springs and pins. The hammer works just fine. If you're going with a Geisselle or Jewel or whatever else, the hammer doesn't even matter and you STILL got the springs, pins and detents for less than if you bought them seperately.

Just buy the damned thing and use it.

My fault, misread it as you don't recommend it. Sorry!

Fit and function is great. I've assembled a dozen lowers with these in the last week. 4 different manufacturers, along with 2 80%ers that I finished, and even an AR10 80%er that I finished. Function tested fine, and fired three of them off of my patio yesterday to test actual function.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the LPK's, and CERTAINLY not for less than any LPK has cost in the last 6 years.

Yeeup. Email communication can be impossible. I've called them a few times and always gotten through within a few minutes though. I also just got email confirmation from a real person a few days ago, about an order that I had called and asked a question about, and when I responded to the email got a second reply in about five minutes.

They're NOT fast, but if you're not in a hurry, it's really tough to beat the price.

I ordered a P-TAC LPK with the grip, I will do one of my lowers when it comes in and report back.

So, I finally got a chance to look the kit over. I compared it with a stag arms kit that I have in reserve, and it seemed to be almost identical. The main differences I noticed were:

Stag kit had the trigger, hammer and disconnector springs already installed, and the disconnector and trigger springs were black in color. And, the stag lit came with an extra detent, and spring.

PSA (blackhawk) kit has a more rubberized feeling pistol grip, and a plug for the bottom. They did not however, recommend keeping anything stored in the grip, as the plug is merely rubber and press fit into the grip. It did seem like it might not be to a secure place for storage. I may not even use the plug.

I purchased three the other day, just because. I too have completed a lower with a Stag LPK, I'll compare and contrast when I get them.
