Default Fun Gun Shoot this coming Sunday M-N-M

This coming Sunday there's the fun gun shoot at MNM. I am already doing a registered event at Redlands so I am 95% sure I won't be able to do the fun-gun shoot. A heads up for Shovelon and others who want to do the fun-gun shoot can email Cory for squadding @: info@moorenmoore.com

Would a factory (but not factory-installed) 18.5" barrel on an 1100 be permitted?

I didn't think so.

How is that not fun?

Apples. I am shooting Saturday for the Silver Series. If I end up getting a punch, I will most likely go to the fun gun shoot on Sunday. If that happens, I will let you use one of my pumps. I won't know for sure about the event until Saturday afternoon. If I don't get any punches, I plan on shooting at Redlands. I can PM you if you are really interested. It's a lot of fun! Even if you would prefer a semi auto, I can bring one of those instead.

For fun, of course!

I figured, and I respect any range's rules.

I [would] let you use one of my pumps.

Appreciate it!

I have four 12 ga guns, and while here at home they all wear 18 and 18.5" barrels, I have all of their og barrels. The S&W 3000 came with a 30" full choke, the 1100 came with a (I forget how the barrel is choked) 28", and one of the two remaining 870s I had purchased because it was wearing a 26" SKEET barrel, and it would be the one I would bring if I were to be any more serious about clay shooting. I could see happening more, now that my eyes are becoming more-neutral dominant from my pistol shooting. I kid you not.

Thanks for the replies, fellers. I always read/watch here and can see how much fun you guys have. I'll see you at some point in the future.

whatsup, forgive my flippant reply, it was meant in humor.

I learned awhile back a little bit about shotgun ranges and a little about the etiquette when I spent an enlightening morning with Captain Dick and Don Z out at Triple Bs where I learned at the time that I had a cross-dominant eye.

I do respect the etiquette and the rules. I just thought I'd ask, since an 18" is so handy yet surprisingly gives tight groups (more or less, depending on shot speed and choke) at close ranges.

Now that I think about it, I know those patterns open up after 15 yards or so, and by the time the shot might reach any clays' ranges it would be a mile wide (and tall)... so again, forgive my silliness there.

The other reason I suppose that a short barrel is restricted is that shotgunners don't want the no0b, tactical types with their short barrels coming out and muzzling everyone else partly because the gun is more compact but mostly because they're noobs.

And I can still act like that too. d'oh.

Carry on.

I got a good score, but didn't win. The targets were actually harder than usual and they setup a 100 yard trap style bird. I smacked it once out of five times with an IC choke. Several people didn't smack it at all. A couple of people did really well, but overall the scores were lower than usual for Redlands.

We missed you. Next time.

Richard Taka---- scored 85 and won the overall and $110. He got a ton of bonus points from shooting his 28ga pump. And he shot well. Craig shot his 410 pump and got even more bonus points. I shot my semi auto rain guns and crashed and burned compared to them. But it was still fun.

I was actually at RSP for SC and skeet on the Saturday. I thought people would suffer their score for the NSCA shoot on the following day (today) Yes, it was setup harder than usual.

They brought back the trap-like targets to the station #10, only more difficult to break than before.

There was another trap-like targets, the station 9. I was struggling to break TP at the station 9 where the targets flew near the mound with short bushes dividing the station 9 and the station 8.

I spent about 10 shells to master the station 9, and gave up.

I didn't have a problem with Station 9. I just hadn't woken up till station 4.
