Thank you! Longest part was the 8 month wait from the time I applied to the interview. After that everything was done in less then 4 weeks. Would have been sooner if I could get a class earlier. But I can't wait for that card

I've done the add-on 3 times. Should be quick and smooth.

Quick question to anyone who can help a gal out here. I live in Mo-Town but I travel because I work in LA. I'm driving the 5 late at night and I close the building by myself in an area that gets sketchy after dark. Is this reasoning 'good cause' justifiable?

Self defense is all you need for Good Cause in Stanislaus County.

Had interview and Livescan on Tuesday 9/19/17 and was notified that I am approved on Friday 9/22/17. Already had training certificate uploaded so once I pay the last fee I can pickup next Thursday 9/28/17. Pleasantly surprised with the quick turnaround😃

Wow, glad to hear DoJ finally got their background check process sped up. We always knew they were the delay, not the Sheriff.

When did you initially fill out your application online?

Lol, long time to wait. I waited 18 months for my appointment, and 6 months after my LiveScan. Yup, took 2 years. Got all my other LTC permits after I booked my appointment, doing one non-resident LTC at a time, waiting util I got it, and applied for the next. Long time indeed. But glad they got it sped up.

Going to do a modification as I just purchased a shield, when asking for the "permit #", is it referencing "ORI", Local Agency Number or CII? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Local Agency # is your permit number. My new permit (August) says CII# but the field is blank.

With Christiansen retiring, does anyone know the CCW stance of the candidates to replace him?

He has already given his support to one of his LEOs running for sheriff as well. I am not worried, but it is a question we need to have vetted of any candidates.

Question.
I completed my class Sunday 11/5 uploaded the proof of training document paid my last fee. Do I wait for a text saying it's ready or do I just go Thursday 11/8 and wait? That's the way the final payment email sounds. I'm at the it's so close I can taste it stage.

If you were approved and just awaiting final payment and proof of training, I think you are all set to go in.

Called sheriff office Wednesday was informed I was good to go for Thursday pickup. What I should have done in first place. So Thursday I went down picked it up drove home and immediately grabbed my gun and went shopping. It's the weirdest thing waking around in public carrying for the first time. All in all 11 months 7 days start to finish for my permit.

Glad to hear it went well. Most folks do the shopping thing, aka the WalMart walk, for the first time, and experience the same. Go to your bank/credit union and it'll feel even more weird. Try to keep your hand off your shirt :-)

OK, quick question. Do you have to have already taken the training course to start the process?

No, don't do that. Your training may be too old and invalid by the time you get approved. It has to be within 6 months from your approval. Don't take your training until you are approved.
