Default My Rossi 92 stainless .357 (fun/survival/economical)

After picking up this bad boy from another forum member, I threw some of my own touches on it. The Rossi M92 in .357 is super light weight, easy to wield and so far has been reliable and accurate. I had to add a Leupold FX-II 2.5x28 Scout. I just love me a nice sight picture. Anyhow, just thought I'd share. Since I load .357 and have 3 at this point, this rifle was an easy choice. Nice little survival gun if you ask me.

Don't know about the OP's, but mine loves .38 Spl and feeds LSWC's perfectly. Actually, mine will even feed full wadcutters without trouble. About the only thing that mine won't feed reliably is a load of empty cases with no bullet weight to help with inertia.

It's been cycling hollow points, flat point and swc's just fine but i haven't yet tried out any 38's just yet. Definitely having fun though and you can't beat the caliber fluidity between your rifle and handgun

OP, what did you use to mount your scope? I did something similar to mine.

That's nice, my favorite gun to shoot..

FWIW, Rossi makes a 20" R92 that comes with a scope mount. The model with the scope mount its usually a little cheaper then the other 92's.

Its model number R92 56002

Id like to get one for CAS and plinking. I think it would be pretty fun with just the iron sights.

Why does everything have to have scope on it nowadays?

Got it. Thank you for the info.

As to why I mounted a scope on mine rather than using the iron sight is because my eyesight isn't that good. I need a good scope to compensate for this deficiency.

Since I have you on the phone can you share experience with your scoped rifle? It's the 24" barrel, correct? Did it shoot good out of the box or did it take some tweeking?

How far have you been able to reach out to with the scope and maintaining good groups?

Mines pretty good out to 100 yards with open sights. Its a heavy SOB that's for sure

.
I have a blued, 16"-barreled Rossi 92 in .357

Great fun to shoot and pretty danged accurate! The only problem I've had with mine is the ejector spring retainer dog pins walked sideways, jamming the action. Looking into fixing that, now, so it doesn't happen again. Only then can I put the lil' carbine back into the HD rotation.
