Default 'Operation Choke Point' may be on the way out - HR 2706

TTAK - http://www.thetruthaboutknives.com/2...n-choke-point/
Quote:
NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industries, today praised U.S. Rep. Blaine Leuktemeyer’s (R-Mo.) legislation that puts an end to an Obama administration effort to deny financial services to businesses solely because they were labeled “high risk,” including firearms-related businesses. The bill, H.R. 2706, the Financial Institution Customer Protection Act, was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives by an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 395 to 2.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Just a bit of clarification, as even the article summary is incorrect. Operation Chokepoint was an executive action, and was terminated months ago after Trump took office.

The purpose of this bill is to hamper or negate any FUTURE attempts to re-implement such a scheme.
