Default Best defensive handgun sights

I could use your guys opinion on what the best defensive handgun sights are in the market. What have you used, why do you like them, why don't you like them? This is for a gun I'd like to use for self/home defense where short range fast target acquisition is a must and maybe long range stuff on the range. Thanks.

I like Heinie straight 8 race cuts. Easy to pick up the front sight and great fit and finish. The price is super high though.

I really like Ameriglo Hack sights which is a green tritium dot in the front surrounded by a neon orange circle with a black rear.

I think I want to keep my front sight and go with yellow tritium rears not surrounded by white circles.

Laser, if you consider that a sight (sure I do).

But IMO: Tactical Light>Laser>Hand Held Light>Night Sights

Alright here is my reasoning:
In a SD situation, quick and fast with adrenaline running, last thing I would do, or want to do is looks at my sights and line them up.
So, I want my focus mostly on the intended target, and as fast as possible. Sight and target at the same focus, wins in fast target acquisition.

Night sights are almost useless in a HD situation, but does not hurt to have them, (great for the dark indoor ranges as well).
If it is dark enough that you really need to use night sights, there will not be enough light to identify your target, that is why a light is before the laser and night sights.

I usually use the factory sights that comes with the gun. Except for the Glock sights, I am not good with their sights.

my both pistols have tritium sights
one from Trijicon, another from Truglo

both cost about 100(installation was about 25 here),
Truglo is brighter (both day/night) but larger size.

+1 for the Heinie Straight 8

1 dot for the front sight and 1 dot for the back. You can only line up the dots one way (front on top, back on bottom) makes it easy and fast.

I am currently using Warren Tactical sights and I like them. Great for range use and self-defense use. Any gun I choose to use for self-defense gets tritium night sights. They are one of things I believe should be there.

Opponents would say that if you can't identify your target then you shouldn't shoot. What they fail to understand is that it is a very isolated situation. In other situations, you can still identify the target with some ambient lights, but it's dark just enough that your sights are hard to see without help of tritium.

Also get a good flash light. Having both the tritium night sights and flash light will assist you very well(don't forget to take some training classes). Two is better than one.
