That's just sad, I used shoot there often, when I lived in Sacramento.

I thought they just won a battle with the city to stay in business last year.

I think they've been financially struggling for at least a year or two. Sad, everyone is buying guns but nobody is taking them out to the local ranges.

Has nothing to do with declining revenue, the city is not interested in renewing the lease, made rediculous demands for renewal so CSC had to close. It's what the city wanted, now they can build houses there.

Ah, I'm probably misremembering what I read some time ago. In the business world, a "lost lease" usually translates to "didn't pay the lease", so that's probably why I was thinking that, but I do remember now that the city was giving them major issues. Sad to hear they lost.

As I said in the regional section post about this, sucks to lose another shop/range, regardless of state of disrepair.

I took my first class and shot my first gun ever there last year, as well as buying my first gun there. Mad at myself for not picking up the SW .38 they were selling from the beginners class, but I did pick up one of their g19s. Waiting to see if they'll sell their pistol rentals, it looks like they've got their shotgun rentals for a damn good price

The Park District recommended not renewing the current contract. The RFP had many demands - the vendor would be responsible for all upkeep and updates, the per-person fees would go up.

Last, but not the least - no gun sales.

Angry Cordova Shooting Center Closed, why?

As I understood, the range had about 30,000 visitors a year, brought in about $183,000 per year. I would have to wonder how much money their the parks and recreation department brought in by the use of their swimming pools?

To answer the question, you can read their explanation, if you can really believe what they say. The parks estimate was that it would take $2 Million to bring the facility up to health and safety specifications. Draw your own conclusions:
