Yep. My appointment was this week. I was scheduled for 10:00am and got there a few minutes early. Turned in all my paperwork and paid the fee. A few minutes later they called me to the back where I had fingerprints and picture taken. They said that I'll get the permit in the mail in 4-6 weeks. I was out the door @ 10:12am.

Everybody was very helpful, very quick and definitely very nice. It really couldn't have been any easier!

It took 12 days after my appt to get my non-resident CCL in the mail from Klamath County Sheriffs Office. Wow, they are amazing!

The number of counties in Oregon that will accept applications from residents of bordering states seems to be shrinking. As far as I can tell Klamath and Lake are the only ones that accept applications from residents of all bordering states, Columbia and Umatilla accept from Washington residents, Wallowa from Idaho and Washington residents, and Malheur from Idaho and Nevada residents. All others seem to require a county specific compelling reason (like owning property in the county). Residents of non bordering states are still SOL everywhere in Oregon.

After calling Klamath County today they’re booked until November but I did make my apt for the beginning of Nov. I also called other counties and one in specific county doesn’t need appointment. If you’d like to know pm and I’ll give you the info.

Turned in my stuff today (7/19). Took all of about 20 mins which included waiting for somebody else to be printed. The ladies were super friendly and helpful. Was told usual wait was 4-6 weeks so fingers crossed.

Default Quick and easy

Scheduled an appointment on May 11th. Showed up to my appointment on August 23rd and was about 5 minutes early. I was out of the office within 15 minutes. I came prepared with a copy of my CA drivers license, copy of a CA CCW, and a completed Klamath County LTC application. The very helpful lady that just took my (certified) birth certificate (as a second from of ID) and passport (proof of US residency) along with a check for the required fees ($65). Went in back, did fingerprints, photograph and all done. I asked her if she needed my proof of training and she mentioned my CA CCW should satisfy that requirement. I came with two other certifications of the required training but they weren't needed.

Lets see when/if I get a letter in the mail in the near future...

Well, an update. My permit arrived in the mailbox on the 14th of September, total time frame of about 22 days. I'm a happy camper now.

Default Klamath County Or Non Resident CCW

About a 4.5hr drive from Sac, had breakfast, went to bank, got there early, In and out in 9 minutes. Then about a 6.5hr drive back home to San Jose.

Thought I’d share how beautiful the drive back was on 97 South from Klamath Falls...
