This is the advice I gave to my son when he went to MCRD a few years ago.
You signed up for this. They own you now. They will scream in your face. It's their job, it's not personal. Try to figure out what they want and do it. Exactly as they say. Complaining doesn't help, no one cares. Best of luck! |

WTC 7 was brought down by demolition. 47 floors came down in 6 1/2 seconds - not hit by a plane. Just one of hundreds of absurdities that occurred that day. Wake up". |

You can still back out until you go to MEPS. Just sayin lol
Your PT scores (and age) are about what Im doing right now and I just got out of the Army with a ****ed up ankle. Really doubt those scores will do much for you in the USMC. Dont waste time, bust your *** now and itll make Basic a lot easier. Good luck man and God Bless! Also, guys were saying get a good MOS. Do it! Even with a good MOS, you may not necessarily have jobs in your field nearby when you get out but at least your resume will stand out. Theres lots of mechanics, cooks and infantry out there. Theres not as many guys who know how to work with satellites or nuclear reactors. With all that said, I chose a good MOS but all the work in that field right now is on the east coast and with the wars winding down, I dont see it being stable so Im cutting my losses and using my GI Bill for a degree in medicine. |

You don't mean Intel do you :O Also, MEPS is where you enlist but there's a bunch of technicalities to get out of your contract on leading up to basic after that... And then some have even not gone to basic or gotten dropped from basic.. General discharge

You might, everyones pull ups go down in second phase. 100 situps is easy and everyone gets 100 even if they dont actually do 100

^^^ I spent all day at MEPS, and they put us up in a hotel for the night next to the airport. Our flight did not leave till the next morning. It was tough not having some friends come down and pick me up for one last night out on the town.
Edit: I also flew 1st class all the way to Kentucky from SoCal. I am sure this was a mistake by the Army.

It really was a lot of fun though. Someone to tell you what to do. Every morning a schedule. I made a lot of friends. I learned a lot. Frankly the Corps was better than college. I spend college locked in a basement studying modern game theory. What would you rather do study math or do a CAX?
