Default Question about a Marine who will not ship an item bought

Purchased over $1,000 worth of product from a Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton over 30 days and he has failed to ship the item. I have tried and tried to get the product from him and even offered to meet him at 1am when he got off work and he flakes every time.

I even emailed him a prepaid UPS label so all he has to do it drop it off, he has failed to do so.

I have a copy of his drivers license and Military ID, should I contact the base?

I really don't want to screw up someone's career but I'm out of options.

Over 500$ that's a Felony What exactly did you buy? Don't tell me a ACOG...

It's a differen't matter if he's deployed and you cannot reach him. However, my guess is that he's just a scammer. Don't be ashamed to peruse him because he's in the Marines, a thief is a thief.

How did you pay him? Cash, check, PayPal? If PayPal maybe contact them to resolve it. Or give him ultimatum, but meet somewhere public or bring a friend. This is why most don't want to ship only FTF. Good luck

A firearm was purchased, I was going to be the transferring dealer for a friend who was looking for a certain pistol.

Let him know that you plan to turn him in if he doesn't return the money or send the goods. If he does neither, it's his own fault for screwing up his career.

How did you pay? I hope you paid Money order or paypal.

If he doesn't respond within the next week contact the PMO's office at Camp Pendleton, I'm sure the MP's or NCIS will get to the bottom of it.

Don't feel bad either... If he's not deployed overseas there's no excuse for his behavior..

Try calling some of these numbers starting with the CID

PMO Points of Contact:

Desk Sergeant 760-763-2077/2076
Criminal Investigation Division 760-763-2796
PMO Operations 760-763-1222
Police Administrative Services 760-763-1221
Police Records 760-725-0819

PayPal gift.. Yea yea I know. He was a marine and he sent me a copy of his ID and military ID which both matched and his address was verified. That's what I get for being trusting.

I have already told him I am going to have to report it if he doesn't get me the item and he just said I need to do what I need to do and that he has been too busy.

If he is truly being worked 100 hours a week then I don't want to screw his career. Apparently he is a airline mechanic.

My wife's cousin is a Cobra pilot at Pendleton and he called bull**** on being too busy.

That's a bunch of BS OP.

He's avoiding you for a reason. He's a garrison Marine, he has plenty of time and opportunity to meet with you. They have the weekends off too....

If he's a mechanic at the flight line, goto Vandergrift road and ask for his CO. Embarrass the hell outta him, instead of calling the MP's.

Good luck with that. Paypal probably won't stand behind you once they find out a) it was for a firearm, and b) it was sent as a gift.

I know if he was in the Army, I could help you find him via the AKO.

I think the Marines use " emarine"? That would tell you his contact info. But, just drive up to the gate at Camp Pendleton and stop by the PMO's office with all the documents, tell them in detail EVERYTHING you've told us.

Get a app where you can download text messages exchanged between you and him. Any piece of communication that can be turned into a document log.

Good luck.

EASY! Take it up with his unit. If anything, ask your wife's cousin to track him down at his unit an go from there. You could have a talk with his OIC or SNCOIC. If they wont do anything, take it up with the squadron CO or their S4.

If I was still in, I would and could track him down for you pretty easily with a few phone calls to the different Squadrons down there, especially if you know what aircraft he works on. Maybe you could contact Calguns member Germz, he's stationed at Pendleton and works IT.

Didn't he do that himself in a fraudulent transaction?

Didn't the man himself tell you that you have to do what you have to do?

Go do it. Good luck!

That was last week and he told me we can meet Friday. I texted him Friday and he said he was too busy, maybe Sunday. He ignored me Sunday.

No contact since.

Trust me, you'll be doing the Marine Corps a favor. He's a s.hitbag and shouldn't be re-enlisting. I always made it my mission to mess with Marines like him... oh how I miss it sometimes, haha

I hear all of you and you are right, I was just hoping that maybe he had a legit reason. From what I read he is either just being lazy or has no intention on following through.

His Military ID says MAR2015 upper right corner so I am assuming they are valid till March 2015?

and I agree with this. There's always a select few that will give the rest of us a bad name. I think it's gotten worse now, wasn't really bad when I first joined, but towards the end before I got out it started to get worse

No offense but why are you still on the forum and not headed to Pendleton. Call PMO and then head out there.. This will be resolved very quickly. Print out the Paypal receipt.

Didn't old crusty Chesty Puller himself say " Take me to the brig, I want to see all the real Marines". Ha.

Maybe he wants the title of a " real Marine?"

Can I post his card here or would that be bad form?

I wouldn't think so, but then again, I'm not very well versed in what good form would be. Though his social security number is on there so maybe...

His he a CalGunner? If so, what's his handle?

Give him one warning that you're going to his command to see if he come through, then drop the hammer if he doesn't.
