got a grid coordinate, off ramp, etc for Steel Hill? Is it crowded? OHV area? Desolate and perfect for lighting up a hillside?

Moving forward, I nominate this exact spot for our meet. Let's say 09/08/2012 All in favor?
What day this weekend? My friend goes every week. There is a large metal container at the entrance that people have already cleaned up. I would like to help just need info.

I was there Thursday. It wasn't that bad. Suprisingly, it would be an easy clean up. I left some fruit chunks but besides that cleaned up with the assistance of a human brass catcher.

Ok, no wonder it was clean. You were out there the week before. I would also like to get involved with the clean up. I have a few family members that I front for shooting and it would be good payback for me to get them out there. Problem is, I'm just not so great at keeping up with these pages. Call it age or whatever. Can someone PLEASE send me a private message or email to let me know when you are getting together for another cleanup? I know you can use the extra hands. Thanks. pietropau9@aol.com

Same PM sent to you. Site is good to go for ranged shooting out to about 200 yds in some spots, with multiple hillsides as backdrops. Time and day determines how crowded it will be. I'm usually able to find a spot that doesn't require me to ask for a cease fire from other shooters to set up, check and reset targets. There is some less frequented spots that are only accessible with a 4x4 that I like.

Wifey is due today but no baby yet, she should be popping any day now. This weekend is a no go for me but I should be good to go, (pending the arrival of my son) for 9/8 if anyone wants to meet up.

What do you guys think about having a Calguns Vet squad for the Pala steel shoot?

Its on 9/29 and the cost is $32. You can shoot pretty much anything.

http://lineadefuego.info/matches/

This is video I found on youtube from the last steel match (not me).

That's 2 for Pala. If we can get 10 or so we will have our own squad. Maybe we can break up into sub-squads by conflict: Nam, Regan Cold War, Gulf War 1, Gulf War 2, War on Terror.

The Gulf War 1 and before guys can shoot 1911's, the young-ins can shoot M9's/92F's

Sounds like a plan to me. I'll most likely run my XD9.

Hmmmmmm, I'm not sure a flame thrower will knock down steel. You could bring a 2.5" S&W 500 though, its like a flame thrower .

I guess the Socal Shoot I was planning at Burro Canyon is a no go. I could not get those people to even talk to me about renting the private range. I told them I was trying to get a veteran shoot going at their private range and they just kept telling me to call back and wouldnt even return my calls when I left a message.

I am glad other people picked up the ball where I dropped it lets get a shoot and greet going!

Burro is essentially booked through the end of the year for private ranges and they no longer have the big private ranges where center fire weapons are allowed (atleast last time I spoke with them). And of course the fire isn't helping!!! It was just below the range but has probably smoked the area by now. Have been renting ranges there for 12 years, but now need to find a new home....

Give me some time windows and we will narrow it down. Make sure everyone is OK with the shoot being down in San Diego.
