I've been pursuing Army too, but my buddy who's an Army MP E-5 has advised me to look into Navy Master at Arms (Navy MP)... much more geared toward law enforcement than Army MPs are according to him. Plus, with all that crap Obama just declared yesterday, Navy and Air Force are starting to look like the "wave of the future" as far as funding goes. Have you taken the ASVAB yet?

No prob!
If you haven't done so already, check out the full-length practice tests to see if there are any areas you need to study up on: Practice ASVAB If you find you need a lot of help in a few areas, I'd highly recommend this book: Kaplan ASVAB... when I took the practice test, I absolutely bombed the electronics, mechanical, and basic arithmetic portions... using that study guide to brush up on stuff I sucked at, I was able to get an AFQT score of 94, and my composite line scores for the Army were all between 129 and 134... which is pretty good. Try to get your AFQT score in the 90s and you'll probably be able to qualify for any job you want.

^^ no sense in racking up school debt if you just wanna join the mil? Join the military and get your degree paid for while you are in, or do your time and get out and use the GI bill!

Join the Air Force. Great way to go and had three great career fields I learned and practiced that I could easily use in the outside world. Know too many young people in their 20s with bad knees and backs. Air Force lets you play war games and break for lunch!

We have a prior air force guy with our unit. He was talking about how he joined before the air force basic turned wussyfied. We all had a great laugh.
