Heartbreakers and lifetakers LOL. I'm fourth row from botton, far right. "Pingers" they called us cuz when you rubbed your hand over your head your hair went brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrip,,, ping from being so short.
T.I. was a Tsgt. Schmitley. He had dentures and when he really wanted to rip into somone he would pull them out and let it fly. |

Our T.I. went home one weekend so I picked the lock on his office and used my brand new Polaroid Pronto camera to take some souvenir shots with his round drill hat. I sold them for $5 a pop for some beer money for when we finally would graduate.
Everything went fine until some goof left his foot locker unlocked and TSgt. Schmitley dumped it over and out fell the goof's souvenir pic. My arse was grass, I did so many freakin pushups for that stunt I couldn't even comb my hair by the end of the day. Me trying to look all hardazz. LOL. |

Signed up 3 days after my 17th birthday (with my parents signature) in the summer of '91 . Basic was at Ft Benning (Bravo 3/32nd) the following summer July '92. My 18th birthday was the first time I shot a gun, ever. For my birthday I got an extra piece of cake and an extra 30 rounds at the end of the day to "blow off". I truthfully can't remember another birthday the way I can recall detail from that one. It was a great day.

Good to see some old timers around here.
Thought I had it made in the shade going to Fort Ord. Though I served in Korea and Germany, I was never as wet, cold and miserable as I was at Fort Ord.
