Wonder if it is the same stuff they’ve had for a while

Emailed them a couple months ago about where it was made and they basically said it is loose packed varying manufacturer

Unless it is Greek HXP, Yugo, or SA from the 70s/80s I'd stay away from it.

Probably a pass for shooting this ammo through my Bren gun.

I am guessing also that this is Paki stuff. Click..............bang! Hangfire city. And corrosive.

If it wasn't, they'd be advertising that fact, and it would never have gone on sale because it would have been sold out already.

My brother ruined the bore on my No. 4 shooting POF .303 and then not cleaning it. He said a full second between trigger pull and firing was not uncommon.

Some people who got it states it was a hodgepodge of WWII era ammo with some POF mixed in.

Bummer, was hoping maybe they got some of the stuff SGammo got right after he decided to stop shipping to 03’s here

No. If you have a valid 03 FFL and CA COE on file, then you are exempt from the ammunition background check law and you can still have ammo shipped to the address on your license so long as the vendor accepts that documentation, which many do now.

I just ordered some. They accepted my licenses no problem. I'll dig thru it and see what turns up.

Every Enfield needs a little dose of cordite.

Wish I bought more of that .303 HXP that was imported a few years back. The 800 rounds doesn't seem like enough for the Bren gun!

Me too. And I wish SG sold the 303 MEN before they cut off CA.

It's not bad deal if you're looking for cheap ammo, but be prepared for hang fires and a few duds with the Pakistani ammo. I would probably only shoot the ammo in an Enfield rifle since it's corrosive.

A lot of the 40s and 50s vintage UK made ammo is click-bang now. The only good stuff I had was some Greenwood and Batley marked from 1950 that was 100% reliable and super accurate.

Yep bolt actions only and take the thermos of boiling hot water to the range to do the initial flush before you head home.

Learned that from a British soldier that said they shot corrosive ammo all the time, but at the range they kept barrels of boiling water and funnels with flexible spout to "flush" the chamber and bore, before they got back to barracks, for proper cleaning.

I'd rather buy the really nice German made .303 that SGAMMO has right now, but unfortunately they stopped all sales to California https://www.sgammo.com/product/303-b...-1980s-vintage

No, it's perfectly legal to buy ammo online, just like it's perfectly legal to buy guns online. In both situations the purchase just has to be shipped to a FFL.

Most of the ammo is MkVIIIz which is nitrocellulose rather than cordite. I've picked up a **** ton to fire through my Semi Vickers which eats it up. I think of the last batch of 500 rounds I had less than 10 duds, which isn't too bad.
I'd still boil out normally after firing, then pull through with the usual accouterments. For the price, you can't beat it though.

If it is boat tail Mk VIII some Lee-Enfields are going to have issues with it. Those with cordite eroded throats will have issues stabilizing the bullet. I found flat base MkVII does better in rifles with some throat erosion.

My #4mk2 on the other hand loves MkVIII but it never tasted cordite except for the factory test fire.

100%. My 1899 CLLE spit PPU boat tail ammo in a shotgun pattern, couldn’t hit anything. Flat base HXP made it shootable.

Wow.
Do you reckon it's due to age, storage conditions or (lack of) quality of manufacture?
