Yeah lol, and some places had even more markup and they still sold. But the new allure of it is gone, plus the early bugs it had that are worked out now, plus the guys on YouTube short stroking it and blaming the shotgun for being unreliable, and the guy using the knockoff Magpul vertical grip getting his hand blown off..... have really brought the demand and prices down. I still want one lol.

What issues? This post pretty much covered it. I've had 2 KSGs in past and had zero issues with either.

I believe it is a YMMV type deal but people where having internals break , light striking , FTEs and short stroking issues for a while. Then there are the more rare instances where sections of the receiver cracked or parts of the fore end cracked/broke and people have shot themselves in the hand ( Only like 3-5 cases)

shooting yourself in your hand is a user error unless the gun fired off on its own.

i wonder if this price drop is related to Keltec going to release a longer barreled version.

How does one shoot themselves in the hand with this? Is the tip of the barrel by position of ones thumb or other fingers? Seems strange that it could be a possibility. But then again this is the first I have heard of other issues like internals breaking on them. Always heard fte or ftf issues but figured they might just be picky with how high the brass goes up on the shells and after cycling several different loads one would find a suitable option with hardly any hiccups. Either way seems like a fair deal and I have been curious about getting one...

The most known KSG blowing hand off was a guy who bought a Magpul vertical grip on eBay that ended up being fake, the cheap Chinese knockoff plastic cracked and broke as he was pumping the shotgun, as the vertical grip broke his hand went in front of the barrel and his trigger finger was already on the trigger.... unrelated to the KSG.

They've been out long enough that they have ironed the kinks out. They made changes from the first ones. Seems to be very reliable in my experience.. don't short stroke it like any pump. Very short package and good capacity make it a fun gun to shoot.

What's really fun is going back to 2010 or so and reading all the thread's of is/will this be CA legal. Good insight from some seasoned members.

Not a bad price at all. I bought into the hype when they first came out but never purchased one. Still cool but at this price I would contemplate purchasing, anything higher and I would rather go into Benelli area; M2 or M4.

I remember Turners had people pay a deposit to be on a waiting list for a percentage of the initial $700 price when they were first introduced back around 2012 or so (?)
... But the deal never materialized, so after a year wait and Turners had to issue credit. Turns out that when they did arrive, they sold them for over $1000!
