I called in today and the orders are definitely canceled. They are allowing us to purchase the lights at 38 bucks but the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth

Plus i did some research and i realized that surefire is essentially selling a 320 lumen light that is housed in a 5.2 inch long housing. I'm sitting here looking at my streamlight protac 1L that is basically the size of my finger and it also puts out around 320 lumens and can be bought right now for 30 dollars.

When a company acts like this, I see zero reason to support them. I filed a complaint with the AG's office because:

A) They made no attempt to notify customers that their orders were cancelled (which, according to the reps I spoke with, they almost immediately were) and instead marked them as "backordered".
B) Placed a hold on funds (that as of today still hasn't been released) for orders they knew they would not fulfill and had no intention of fulfilling or shipping.
C) Offered the exact same item at a significant markup (depending on the rep you speak to when you call, they'll either charge you the $38+tax+shipping EACH or together, but it's too inconsistent to say which for me) or just leave the order open with one part of the company but cancelled with another
D) Message left twice for a supervisor who was supposedly "in a meeting" and would call me right back. Care to hazard a guess if she's called me back yet?

That's deceptive business practices and perilously close to a "bait & switch" scheme to me. Never once did any rep say it was a "price mistake" which affords them due recourse, or a website error. They claimed I stacked promo codes, which most of us did not do. F*ck surefire. They've lost my business for good, and quite a few others, over seven bucks. Stepping over dollars to pick up dimes.

Meh. I think they deserve some backlash so that they recognize that they need to up their customer service, but I'm not going to bust their balls over a pricing mistake. I seriously doubt that they did this as a bait and switch to make an extra $30 on a few dozen orders.

It would be great if they honored the price, but I understand that mistakes happen. I don't throw tantrums if they feel they can't honor mistakes caused by computer glitches.

Hardly a mistake when they have a history of doing this.

Computer glich? Is AI taking over SF? Humans so far push buttons and write programs.

Incompetency, not malice.
I'm still mad that I have to jump through more hoops to get my muzzle brake. I'm still waiting on an email to reorder...

That is the same size as the streamlight hlx which costs around 70-80 dollars and delivers 1000 lumens. Quality wise....you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between the streamlight and the surefire. 5.2 inches is huge on a flashlight! This is basically the same lumens as the tiny streamlight 1L which operates on just one battery, rather than two.

Surefire is using very old technology and while they may have very good QC, you really can't justify paying double for what is essentially 1/2 or 1/3 of the same light.

The quality on streamlights is extremely high and i've never had any of mine fail on me...even during hard use.

Screw Surefire and their pathetic decade old tech and horrible CS
This has always been the case, they'd come out with a new & exciting light, only to have an outdated LED inside. I used to have a hoard of SF light, but all of them were modified.

I get your point but there is a fundamental problem with Surefire. This is the 3rd time they have pulled something like this. You would think live inventory would have limited the issue but they don't even have that. They collected probably thousands of people's data that otherwise would not have been interested in overpriced lights. ....then they jam you with marketing ads to add insult to injury. Never again. I urge all to write your review on yelp. F them.

Yeah, I don't think this was a con on their part....remember they are a multi-million dollar company with huge military contracts. Doubt they are going to try nickle and dime scams to make $20 bucks a customer.

Incompetent....I have no doubt they are when it comes to this. But for $38 bucks, I think there are much better options out there for LED flashlights.

And this is kind of my point, they've pulled stunts like this a few times already in recent memory. They'll probably pull something similar again. The whole ".com is a separate entity" crap is really starting to grind my gears, but it also explains why a company with multi-(b)million dollar contacts is pulling penny ante sh*it like this, to bolster sales and justify their continued existence as a direct marketer.

If it was a price mistake, and a one-off, sh*it happens, no harm no foul. That isn't this and their absolute sh*it customer service chaps my a*ss. And they STILL haven't released the hold on my credit card, despite my order being "canceled".

Got the email. Well they're not offering it at THE discounted price, so I suppose their narrative is only partially true.

To everyone telling others not to whine/complain/etc. in regards to Surefire's actions here: ignorance is bliss. This is nowhere near the first time Surefire has pulled something like this. When an industry leader like Surefire consistently demonstrates these bad business practices, "incompetence" seems much more like an excuse, than an adequate explanation.

Seems some of y'all are conflating a diligent consumer with an angry one. I bought a couple of Streamlights that the other poster linked. Im just through giving Surefire any money when they keep sitting on their own balls every time they run a promo and expecting their customers to just keep eating sh*it and asking for seconds.

Yea, I have no "anger" towards Surefire.. they are just inept and in terms of CS are failures.. why would I spend my money there especially when lights of equal, or often better, specs can be had for less $$?

As stated.. it's not like this is the first time.. or even the second..

All the guys in my family were super stoked with the Streamlight 1L-1AA Protacs I gave them. They loved the size, brightness and the dual fuel option.

It makes no sense to pay 3 or 4 times more for a surefire when you can get something comparable or better like streamlight or foursevens

For the money my Streamlights are all superior.. with SF you're just paying needlessly for the name.

Good lights, but overpriced, especially considering what a crap company they are.

That you paid full-price (+ shipping) for??? LOL

SF should have blown them out at the discounted price given they just released the upgraded version.
In the mean time, i'll sit tight with what I have, then pick up the older model at the same *discounted* price from amazon in a few months.

Of similar note - anyone see those new TLR7s??? I might have to snag one

What did you actually have to do to get them to ship the item to you at the advertised price? I sent them an email insisting that they honor the BF price, never heard back.

~$30/light was the "allthelumens" discounted price (versus the ~$38 "cyber" price ). Not sure how they let your order through, but congrats.

Lol wasn't worth the trouble tbh. I had to call like 3 or 4 times to complain.
