Here's the link to the filings with SCOTUS.

New York's deadline to file a responsive brief currently is November 8, 2018.

After reading that, NY gun laws make CA almost look like a free state. Holy ****, I can't believe NY is that restrictive.

I hope SCOTUS will take the case and do the right thing however if there are a lot of states rights advocates on the court nothing positive will happen.

I'm not sure the SCOUTS have standing, but I hope SCOTUS looks at it anyway.

Even if SCOTUS leans towards states' rights that would not apply to states violating the Constitution.
Anyway they always take the easy way out and choose NOT to hear 2A cases because they know that they would HAVE to rule the antis' laws Unconstitutional.

Let's see if SCOTUS in new configuration is going to change that.

The laws and restrictions in place in NYC are so egregious and clearly in violation of Mcdonald that SCOTUS should have no problem granting cert. If cert is not granted we are probably screwed until we get ANOTHER justice. I'd hate to think that was the case.

In a race to the bottom NY probably tops CA, largely as a result of the permit to possess requirement which makes it virtually impossible for nonresidents to visit NY with a firearm.

I like and visit NYC regularly, but have to accept I can't go there with a firearm. On my most recent visit I had a conversation with a couple of NYPD cops about this. Nice guys, but they had difficulty wrapping their heads around the idea of legally armed citizens. They didn't ever see NYC changing its gun laws no matter what the courts say. I guess we'll see.
