Default HK and Red Jacket.....C"MON MAN!!!

I can't believe HK's President went to Red Jacket???? Why? Is HK really out of touch with the public. Red Jacket is an assemble house. They don't make guns. There not even a real firearm maker. They just mod a few things and put their stamp on it. For HK to go their, they have really lowered their standard. If they wanted to get publicity, why? They don't like to sell to civilian. OK, they sell the 416 and the 417. But look how long it took them. If HK wanted to sell their guns to the civy guys, why not bring back a modify version of the MP5, HK93, HK94,...... All other vendor had modify or just renamed their gun so it's legal in the U.S. or California. Think DPMS Panther, didn't they just renamed it. Anyways, just venting. I am a hard core HK fan but I am slowing loosing interest in them because I can't buy a MP7!!!!

If you have to ask, yes they are. If you get a chance to talk to a dealer, ask them how H&K reps (like the ones at SHOT) treat them. Those guys have an attitude, their stuff is the best, better than everyones and unless your an operator you shouldn't be allowed to touch their stuff. If you do you are lucky. H&K's unofficial motto is "you suck and we hate you". Seriously their products are overrated anyways.

Everyone at HKUSA is a salesperson. Salespeople are, um, not the best examples of the homo sapien species. HK USA has very little to do with the guys building and designing the weapons in Germany.

So yeah, when you have salespeople, you're going to get stupid decisions for the purpose of marketing.

The show is a joke. They cut down the barrel on an HK416, when they could have just ordered one with a short barrel, bolted some crap on it, and "opened up a whole new market".

As much as I hate to do this, it was probably a good idea for H&K to do that. It's amazing advertising, lets take Future Weapons for example. Was that show cheesy as ****? yes, but look at the interest it made for H&K, LWRC, and other such companies. Lets be honest how many people know about LWRC BEFORE that show?

hK is over rated and most all dealers hate them, but now that they are on red jacket, most people who don't know sh*t about guns want an hK 416

HK reminds me of Sony. I used to work in consumer electronics in the 80s, then professional broadcast in the 90s and have dealt with many Sony reps. They always had the same motto, "you suck and we hate you...because we are Sony".

Look at them now, Sony is going through hard times. If you treat your customers like an inconvenience, sooner or later it will catch up to you.

I like HKs but they are waaaaay overrated and over priced.

hk=anti-gun. I've seen their guns, they perform well and I would love to have one but I cannot support an anti-gun company.

Screw HK. Never owned one and won't unless it's used and it's a deal.

I own 2 HK products. Well not really, SG is made by Benelli, MP5 made by MKE. That video is ****ing hilarious, edit fail!

So suck it HK, If I wanted an $800 pistol with a crap trigger I would just go buy 2 Glocks.

I used to deal with some Alpine reps like that, then they went all main stream trying to sell to everyone and their products became crap for the most part ....kinda like Mercedes Benz.

no im saying that there was a point to it. hK found a way to get all of the armchair commandos into gun stores by showing them a product that has a lot of hype behind it, and making them believe that if they can buy one they can be "operators" as well

My friend works for the LA Sheriff's in their S.E.B. and I got to shoot his HK 416 short barrel on full auto and I don't think I've grinned so much in my life. It's truly is a great rifle, but as mentioned earlier the salespeople need to learn some people skills.

Hey how are you doing? I've spent many years in sales being a salesman. Hard work and rewarding work. Great money if you're good. Not ALL salespeople are evil underlings that prey on the weak.

I too, also feel this Red Jacket thing is fail. It's like the Jersey Shore of guns. WHY?!

agreed, red jacket definitely wasn't a good move for them. show had some potential, but "tv" kind of ruined it imo.

Saw this on madogre.com. Full link here as well. Perhaps HK cannot be solely to blame for everything. socialist German gubbament dun want me buy no guns??:

-----------------------------------------------
Some guys have blamed HK for this because they will not sell the MP7 to Civilians. This is unfair to HK. I sat in a meeting with the President of HK, and I spoke with him personally about the whole “You Suck and We Hate You” thing. Yes, HK is very well aware of Master Correia’s thrashing of them, and admitted that it was actually justified. He stressed the lengths they are going to to try to turn that image around. As a dealer, I have seen the results of their efforts. Calling up HK now is like calling up a totally different company. According to German Law – HK is based in Germany after all – they are not allowed to sell the MP7 to Civilians. German Law says because such weapons have no sporting purpose they can’t export them to the US… unless it’s to a Law Enforcement Agency. So it’s not HK saying that you suck and they hate you – It’s the German Government saying you suck and they hate you. The president of HK would love to sell you and me and our friends, HK MP7′s and SL8 rifles with full magazine capacities. Of course they would… they are a Commercial Company. They want to make money.
---------------------------------------

That being said, although I like my HK firearm and it performs well, it was definitely overpriced for what it is and I do agree their products are over hyped and... poorly marketed. Based on their marketing behind their products and some HK owners I've seen/met, probably marketed by d-bags w/o much people skills for the armchair commando types or those "no im the big man i do what i want because im right and i say so and do it right now" types.

Bought their product anyways b/c i dont buy my firearms for their marketing (or lack thereof), i buy them b/c they provide what i was looking for and work for me.

HK makes good weapons but they are not the best, just the most overrated. They over price everything to fool people to think they are the best since the sheeple will figure if it cost more it's better, lol. Those Hk USA reps were a joke. I'm more surprised about Chis Kyle the SEAL for going o RJ.

That episode was such a joke. Let's bring an Hk 416 into the shop and throw an Eotech and a bunch of Magpul stuff on it and stamp it as Red Jacket lol. I could have done all that in my kitchen table. It's not a gunsmith or gun shop. It's a slap & chop shop. RJ is such a joke, I only watch it to laugh and see guns at the same time.

Who's out of touch? While I don't like the show or respect the ACTORS/gunsmiths(?), you might be surprised to know just how many in the industry seem to. The RJ crew goes to SHOT and people who are in the industry flock to them for autographs. I've seen +30 minute lines just to get them to sign something. So, while you (just an average shooter) may not be impressed with RJ, many people who make their livings from firearms appear to disagree with you.

That's great, so there are bigger idiots then them making guns? That douchbag ahole and his mentally challenged son in law wouldn't have a change in hell getting that kind of business without that show.

they would still have a store and still sell guns. just not as many. I know of alot of gun stores that do what they do even less than what they do and their doors are still open.

The people "in the industry" at SHOT are press and salespeople. Enough said.

I'm not a dealer. I know that on the 2 occasions I've called HK for support they picked up the phone quickly, answered my questions, and immediately shipped me a new hammer for my USP at no charge when I needed one.

Of course they are overpriced. Any time you are going to buy an import firearm it is going to be overpriced. The sheer bureaucratic nightmare of dealing with the gun laws in multiple countries is going to add a premium any way you cut it. It's a real shame that the Army's IC competition is a sham with no hope of replacing the aging M4 platform, because getting 416's built here in the US by multiple manufacturers would actually be the solution for said problem.

Yeah, Snooki from Jersey Shore also has lines of people for her autograph. It's called the "cult of personality" and stupid people are drawn to it. Huge swaths of our society are drawn toward "reality" celebrities, even if they are functionally retarded as are most of the RJ crew. This says more about our idiotic society than the anointed reality stars who benefit from it.

Who the hell is Snooki? OK, I know she's on some stupid show that I've never seen. I guess I'm not a normal member of society since, I wouldn't recognize her if she was wearing a name tag.

HK on SoG is weird pandering to an audience they don't even really sell guns to.... but not surprising. I guess I'll look forward to seeing HK sponsor a theme bike on American Chopper.... (Ha!)
