I am tapped out. The wife is beyond upset. I have what I need until I retire in about 6 years. I am just buying 100 packs of federal 12 gauge target at Walmart about once every two weeks. About $42 a month. My son has an over/under and I want to have about 1500 to 2000 rounds . We hit the range about 6 times a year because of school clubs, scouting, and sports.

With reloading plus Reno being only 2 hours away, I'm not worried at all.

Quick #'s check on SGAmmo, a major online vendor.

ref: in stock supply of .223 / 5.56mm........revealed of approx. 288 offerings only 82 were in stock. That's approx. only 28%.

I'll take another look at the #'s during the 2nd week of December.

Yeah, SG for some strange reason, likes to allow items that have been sold out for long time to remain posted on their site. Sales of ammo from yesteryear are still listed. Ammo they no longer have. Ammo they have not had for over a year.

Not sure why they do this. I see ammo I purchased over a year ago, still listed but none available.

The have a lot of stock right now.

You should have been steadily buying all year because of the stupid bull**** mail order ammo ban next year. I purchased some 38 and 45 but other than that just gonna wait until I'm out of this hellhole.

Probably because they get some of those brands irregularly so just update stock rather than add a whole new item.

Starting in October of 2016, yes.

No rush, anymore, I have a good amount, I do have some money to spend if a good price comes along.

If dealers want that money, then they'll have to produce some nice deals, otherwise I'll keep the cash.

I'm literally running out of places to put this stuff anyway, (actually run out of places), just finding new holes to put this stuff in now, it's not easy LOL.

I was at Bass Pro Shop in Manteca today, they're stocked pretty heavy, had boat loads of .22lr, I was there for a case of steel duck shotshell, was disappointed they didn't have any Federal Black Cloud or Kent Fasteel 10-pack cases, just loose 25-rd boxes, they still gave you a case discount if you bought 10 or more but I like to buy it in the factory 10-pack case.

Last time I was there I was disappointed, their bulk prices were all higher than Natchez even after factoring in shipping ;/

My cards are maxed out on buying ammo. I just got another 1000 rounds of 9mm and 2,000 rounds of 22lr.

Gotcha, I assumed you were talking about shotshells. I agree, their centerfife ammo prices are more expensive than mail order, they're typically only competitive when they put ammo on sale. Tax vs mail order freight is a wash although SGammo can be very competitive on freight with multi case discounts.

Here's the Federal American Eagle mail in rebate form for .223 and 5.56 if you haven't seen it,

It's almost as if the law is vague on purpose to allow LE and the courts to interpret it however they want down the road. But yeah, if it turns out that this all applies only to residents, I'll buy it on my way down from Alaska, after I get through Canada. But I have a feeling it's not going to be so cut and dried as that. In the mean time, I have a stash stored away in CA just in case. At least the Jan 2018 portion is all on dealers, and not buyers. But I suspect that will drive prices up within the State a bit. The regs coming later are going to muddle the issue and, I suspect, most dealers won't have clarity on it and may just refuse to sell to out-of-State residents just to avoid any possible hassles.
At the least you need that stupid ammo buyer permit.

Ironically here in my local AZ Walmart there is no .22. Never has recovered from the shortage. The most I've seen in the case was 3 boxes, and that was only once.

I went to Bass Pro in Manteca this evening and they had TONS of ammo and it all seemed really overpriced. It doesn't seem like Bass Pro's prices were always this bad. 1k rounds of Federal American Eagle for 399. Ouch. My buddy bought some fishing stuff and I bought a bottle of water.

Walmart has winchester 150 pack 9mm for $23 a box. I think they are getting regular resupplies because they seem to always have at least 5 boxes on the shelf.

This price is cheaper than buying the russian stuff online...get it while the getting is good!

Have 1k of 9 mm and 357 Sig of factory ammo. Not going to touch it. I reload both and will shoot those. I do need some 22 WMR and 7.62x54R though

Why buy from them when you can get name brand ammo delivered to your door so cheap now? Or go to Walmart for reasonable prices?
I still have a few boxes of "full power" 44 mag that I bought from them. They all work fine, but are definitely not full power. I bought a lot and they wouldn't take them back. I haven't bought from them since.

It's going to suck when I need something like a box of non-toxic game loads just to go bird hunting. It's not something I can stock up on cheaply!

But, crime will go way down!
