I like the LaRue mount for it
It's the 'compact' mount

the arms mount is super low I know that

I got my mount yesterday; as I have 1 penny and lack the 2nd to rub the first against, I couldn't spring for a LaRue or A.R.M.S.

I got an American Defense Quick-Detach compact on eBay for $65. Mounted the ACOG last night, I like it a lot. I'm going to take pics and post a mini-review shortly.

Here are some sloppy pics of my AR with the ACOG mount removed and replaced with an American Defense Quick-Detach Compact mount.

I didn't have the dough to blough on a LaRue, GG&G, A.R.M.S. etc, and found this on eBay for $65 + shipping. Got it the other day, quite happy with it so far, although it has not been to the range.

Much better look, much better position for sighting, and quick and easy to install or remove. I say: BUY ONE!

I agree; waiting to get some Magpul MBUS in FDE. Also waiting to get a PMAG in FDE, but that should be on later today. Here's a new shot of the rifle with a re-sprayed lower:

Yeah, me too. I'll likely hit it with some FDE Duracoat, but the way dirt and grime showed up on the faux-dark-earth I had on it earlier was unsettling. But then again, I am picky about stupid, worthless issues.

Came home to find my MBUS waiting on me... Have to say RifleGear was awesome to work with on this

Ordered on the 1st, got processed within a half hour and shipped that same day... From online order to delivered across the country within 3 days, no complaints from me

Oh cool tell us what you think of that thing. I'm not sure about how easy it pops open for my taste.

So why did they ship across the country? Riflegear is based right here in SoCal

I got bored so decided to give the digital camo pattern a try. Took FOREVER to do and I'd say I was only doing things at 70% perfection and it took 2 days, if I was to redo it at 100% perfect it would take way more than two days. I could have made things to by much faster if I ponied up for the pre-cut stencils but I wanted to be hard core and made the stencil myself which took 90% of the time.

My bastard rifle, not a dedicated anything platform. But I built her from parts, she is very accurate, so far very reliable, and she's all mine.

That is make up a design. Obviously a can job, but I came out with the effect I wanted. I have seen much better aesthetic patterns that look great, especially close up, but I was not going for that. I built the rifle to be a practical shooting rifle for varmint, and out to 200 yards with open sights. I wanted it reliable, and wanted it the finish to blend well at distances out to 100 yards.
The other photo was taken at 50 feet, and not a zoom shot. If I, and the gun were actually among the bush, it would be very difficult to see if you were not looking for it.

Compared to a black rifle, in this other shot, you can see the obvious advantage to camouflage.

The thing with any camo colors and patterns is, its only as good as the color and pattern environment around it. Since we are basically a high desert environment, that's what I choose as the color scheme, a digital pattern would work equally well.
