Thumbs up 2A-1 v KH/TPD-0 (Roberts v Matsuda, Torrance, destroy surrendered guns)

Another win for Chuck Michel and gun owners in Ca.

http://www.presstelegram.com/general...trieval-policy

Sadly not soon enough to keep TPD from illegaly destroying a mans firearms at the behest of KH and her illegal policies.

No one at Torrance PD thought this was wrong ?!

The Torrance Police Department failed to return 17 surrendered firearms worth $15,800 to their rightful owner, ignored two court orders to do so and then destroyed them after almost three years of illegally holding the weapons, according to a lawsuit against the city by gun advocacy groups.

It always bugs the crap out of me that we have to spend so much time, effort, and money just to prove the DOJ was wrong. They should have been awarded a lot more than $30,000 for all the time and effort.

It should have been more like $300,000 IMHO. Until and unless it becomes prohibitively costly to pull crap like this the abuses will continue... and even then it's not their own money that pays the penalties: those are tax-payer dollars being wasted

This is just one of those perfect microcosm examples of how we can expect LE to conduct themselves in the face of illegal and unconstitutional orders. The orders WILL BE followed without question. Period!

Perhaps because there will not be any consequences to the individual officers?

This does not surprise me with Torrance PD. I think they have the attitude that they are the only ones that should have guns.
The city thinks, we have cops, you don't need guns.

You have to understand the anti-gun cop mind set.

They were 'Getting those guns off the street.' Protecting the City of Torrance from dangerous weapons. 'No need to thank me ma'am, just doing my job.'
