"ORI" or CII#
Which number is the actual CCW License number on the std paper CA format?
Have a few questions now that the Sacramento County Sheriff is changing the format of the license. Sac CCW office is closed until the 17th, phones are just ringing, the customers are in limbo per se. Decided to e-mail, but in identifying myself - John Doe, of course - figured it reasonable to add the license number. Unfortunately, the actual license doesn't have "License # ____" on the form. The ORI and CCI are the only two logical options. Thanks in advance for the correct choice. |

ORI belongs to the agency that issued it.
CII = Criminal Identification Index. Assigned to you by the California Department of Justice. ORI = Originating Agency Identifier. ORI's are unique identifiers used specifically for registered entities to communicate with NICS or an agency to search through NICS. You will see livescan forms with this as well as fingerprinting places. EDIT: Local Agency Number is your permit number as described by Doheny below. Last edited by code_blue; 01-09-2017 at 4:02 PM.. "Local Agency Number." That's the number of your permit assigned by your I.A.
See how the two permits issued by the same agency have different "Local Agency Numbers"? That's because they were issued to two different people. Again, the "Local Agency Number" is the number of your permit as issued by your I.A. Everyone from the same I.A. would have a different Local Agency Number. Doheny is correct. I had a brain fart and forgot the LAN.
CII is your fingerprint ID number used to identify your criminal history/CORI in CLETS. Kind of like a CA DOJ social security number for criminal history. |

That's probably because it is easier for them to search via CII to determine if you've been arrested/booked rather than find your permit number then retrieve the CII. For this purpose, handle as instructed by SSD. |
