Default Instead of going to the Costa Mesa Gun Show Today...

So, instead of going to the Costa Mesa Gun Show today, I went to Ammo Brothers in Cerritos and picked up a new S&W M&P 40. I got there at about 9:30 and was 2nd through the door by the time they opened at 10. I finished my business and was headed back home by 10:30.

When the doors opened, there were at least 50 people in line behind me and many had said they returned from the gun show because the lines were so long. I heard some had been waiting to get in to the gun show since 4 am! So, for those who went, how was it? How were the lines? What did you do instead of waiting in the horrendous line?

How much did you pay for your m&p?

It was more than I originally was hoping to pay. $549 before taxes and fees.

Yeah. I haven't seen anyone that had them in stock for that price. I know Turners and Riflegear advertised them for $499, but I got tired of them waiting for their stock to replenish. I figured I could afford the difference, and timing my arrival at the lgs with the gun show in Costa Mesa worked perfectly.

Yeah, I figured the gun was a better deal than the ammo right now. One guy came in to the store, he had the last 4 boxes of .223. He said he doesn't even own a gun in .223! He was just buying it in case he ever got onein the near future.

How is the trigger pull? My old m&p trigger was so bad I had to install APEX RAM.

The M&P 40 is a nice shooter. I still regret selling my M&P 9. My 40 has a few thousand through it, never an issue.

Great minds think alike! Instead of going to the Costa Mesa Gun Show today, I met a fellow a Calguns.net member and bought a pristine SIG P228.

I have never had an affinity for crowds....

Cheers!

It was a bit stiff when I was checking it out at the counter today, but it didn't seem to bad. Definitely a heavier pull is required than on my rifles. Once I pick it up in 10 days I'll play around with the pull and see if it's something I can get used to or if it needs to be adjusted.

I'm DROSing a M&P 40 at Counter Strike in Hemet on Monday. ($509 + fees). I already have the 9mm and the .22LR. I just really like the M&P line.

Hey hey.. you missed out on all the beads and cheap crystal trinkets, not to mention all the "zombie" targets, ammo and guns so you can prepare for the Zombie apocalypse.....

Instead of the Costa Mesa Gun Show I visited Turners @ Chino Hills and gave up on waiting for the 9mm M&P Shield.

I transferred my money for the next shipment of Glock 19's for $569 (around $640 out the door ...ouch). The G19's were actually in transit I was told by staff but no firm date was offered.

I figured I had a better chance of those G19's arriving than the M&P Shield at this point.

So those of you wanting a 9mm semi-auto in this market, head on down to Turners, pay your money and take your chances...

Damit, I forgot about the trinkets, it would only cost like $20 for a ticket and parking so I could buy em too.

The GlockStore down in SD has/had (?) them. They had them at the Costa Mesa show for sale yesterday. Crappy thing is that since they are based in SD, you'd either have to go down to SD to pick it up, or pay to have it shipped..

I got in line at the entrance to the show at 8:45. I got in around 10:20 and got in line for ammo immediately, and my buddy got in the other ammo line. After 2 hours we were still at least an hour from the front so I had another friend wait in my line and went to check stock and prices. After seeing Wolf .223 being the cheapest and still $249 for 500 rounds I gave up, especially after seeing the 500 round limit for sales on it. Found two guys selling 1000 rounds of Federal 5.56 ammo for $950, and another guy selling it for $20 per box of 20, nice.

I then went looking around and found an AR lower parts kit for $200 and an 80% AR lower for $225. I then realized I didn't have enough lube to buy anything on my list so I just bought some pink magpul stuff for my girlfriend and called it a day. I was just sad to see the gouging going on.

Looks like I'm not the only one that picked up an M&P .40 at Ammo Bros recently. Congrats!

I went to turners in orange about 30 minutes before they opened and was first in line. Did my gun purchase paperwork and was gone by 10:30. There was about 30-40 people behind me by the time they opened.

The show was ridiculously crowded. The line for ammo went through the whole main walkway to the entrance and most people gave up. Other than the crowd, the people selling irrelevant items, and the crackling stun guns, it was nice as far as a lot of vendors being helpful and explaining things to people even in these crazy events, but the only thing I would come back for is ammo when the rush dies down.

I was looking for parts at the show for my AR I got a good lower reciver parts kit for 175. One place wanted 225 for their kit. There was alot of gougin going on for AR parts. The stuff online is normaly half the price at the show. I will definatlly go back though for the show to look for deal. Just beward bring a nice wad of money if you want something.

Oh and on a side note the calguns booth was very nice and freindly ill see them next show.
