Default Deadwood Boys Piru Action Pistol This Sat 1/12/13

Happy New Year Everyone! The first Deadwood Boys Piru Action Pistol match of 2013 is coming up this Saturday, January 12th, 2013.

What do you need?
You, your handgun (.380 or better), and 300 rounds of ammo. Match fees are $20 for Deadwood Boys or X3 members and $30 for non-members. Remember: YOU DO NOT NEED TO STOP AT THE PUBLIC RANGE TO PAY RANGE FEES IF YOU ARE ATTENDING A MATCH
Just do it.

For more information go here: http://www.deadwoodboys.org/ and if you have any questions please feel free to post them up.

New to competition shooting or Deadwood Boys matches? Well, come on out, we are super noob friendly and will walk you through the course. Ask around, no better place to be an FNG.

This event is growing every month as more and more shooters spread the word. You will be hard-pressed to find a more fun match around. Just ask m2oore here on CalGuns. He came out for the first time last month and had a blast.

So, make plans, check the website for directions, come on out on Sat. and meet the gang.

Please note: Our amazing chef will not be able to make this match so make sure to bring your own food/snacks/drinks. If I can get myself out of bed early enough I might bring a little something for breakfast again.

Here is the Weather Forecast for Saturday:

Just a heads up on the food situation, it's Latin Guns Anniversary and he will not be there this weekend. Please spread the word so people don't show up starving. (Like any of us are really starving) 😃
On another note I will be there this weekend, my surgery went well, and I need to get out. Still wont be shooting for a couple of months though.
I look forward to getting back out to the range see you all then

Thanks Sam. Info updated. Glad to hear you are recovering well. You could always try shooting the entire thing gangster style and have the RO reload your gun for you. Glockworx might even have enough time to install these sights for you:

Looks like, due to a lack of ammo, that I will not be able to compete this weekend.

As how I am off to Morro Bay during the next shoot, that means the next match for me will be February.

It's ok..I really really really wanted a practice session before this match and it just didn't happen so I am HOPING that I will get in a practice before the next time!

GEEZ!

No problem Bill. Hopefully this ammo shortage ends soon so we can all shoot as much as our wallets will let us again. See everyone tomorrow.

Yea. Part of my problem was that I was getting strung along by Surefire. I placed an order more than a month ago and when I call about it, I get "It'll be ready tomorrow"..and it's not. I did that for 2 weeks and finally...they just didn't come through in time. I still don't have the order and have no idea if they are going to fill it.

I ordered some on-line so I am hoping that works out and I can get a better source of boom boom. I do this sport to relax and have fun, not to get frustrated.

Geez Gomer! OUTSTANDING scores for you...especially on bay 1! You runnin' magic bullets or something? (I am going to guess that the spinner was on 1).

VERY nice!

Lol. Thanks guys. Yeah, Stage 1 was my best of the day hands down. And no, they weren't magic bullets. If they were, I wouldn't have had that damn sideways primer on Stage 4 that cost me a Top5 overall/Top3 in-class finish. Oh well. Time to go over the tapes to find where I can make improvements for the next one in . Here's the video for Stage 1:

I'll have the rest of the videos uploaded in the next few days.

Oh, and m200re - way to go with your 5th out of 10 finish in Limited 10. You really made some big improvements and are picking up the sport really quickly. Keep doing what you are doing and your 3rd match will be even better.

Lol. Thanks. They are factory Federal American Eagle 124gr FMJ 9mm. I just calculated the PF and they would be a 142. I love this M&P9 Pro. The muzzle flip on it is almost non existent and makes double, triple, or quadruple tapping easy.

I would love to do a practice with you and have you show me how you shoot that spinner with 9mm....

No sir. Going to Morro Bay, but I AM shooting. The wife is taking a class up there on guns.."Women teaching Women". I get to go to the range.

But don't worry..while you guys are shooting steal, I will be shooting oysters.

(Not to mention that I have been working on that whole ammo thing. Opened up to new sources as well as have a press on the way!)

BTW, I just rewatched your vid because I wanted to see you hit the spinner..but...you were forced to shoot through a hole so I could not see it well. I'll watch for the tape of the week from you so I can see it better!
