Time Warner IntelligentHome security
Has anyone used this? The GF and I are thinking of getting it installed for a security system, wondered if any of you has experience with it.

Monthly fees for Time-warner monitoring of intrusions is a no-go in my book...
The last I heard, they cannot even keep their phone service and TV service up. My contract is up with my security-system provider, and I found Cellular-connectivity monitored system for about $450, with a cell-monitoring fee of only like $30/month (including options). I think Verizon offers a similar service, for a monthly fee too, but I believe it is all over-hype, and overpriced. It looks like a $200-$300 system from the picture, comparing to the systems I have been researching. Honeywell offers all similar services for about $6/month on top of your security system monitoring. Crash and Smash non-tolerant systems would be MY concern with a new provider of alarm monitoring with only one option (yet unspecific on their site)... Starting at price, with ZERO specifics, not even the other upgraded service options would turn ME away... Funny how they do not list prices on their page... ... ... At least these guys give more options, as a crash-and-smash-the-keypad won't stop the call from this system: http://simplisafe.com/home-security-shop2 $15-$25/month for cell-monitoring system isn't that bad. Cameras that record to a hidden, undisclosed location would always be a good option. Last edited by the86d; 08-22-2013 at 11:21 AM.. |
