Default Fun plinkin' targets, ideas?

OK, we all like to get out there and just plink. ya' know, not serious bulls-eye or competition run and gun. just fun targets - that's plinking
What are some things you like to set up as targets?
Of course you gotta love the ol' tin (or aluminum) can. I love golf balls.
Don't care for glass bottles anymore, to hard to clean up.
But I like side by side, who can knock over the water bottle faster. The trick is to get a hit low so the water starts to go out, then get a hit high to knock it over.
balloons have been mentioned, way fun.
also a deck of cards, play poker, fish, 21, or what ever, or shoot the A of spades like a show.
What have you got? what's your faves?

Honey bear bottles full of water. Plastic army men, bottle caps, clay pigeons, tennis ball on a string, golf ball on a string, (must be an air gun capable of penetrating the golf ball) cheap doggie squeak toys, etc. We must have blown up 100$ worth of glass deposit soda bottles with the bb guns when we were kids. Got a healthy azz-whoopin for that one, and spent a few days cleaning up the mess.

I though this was for regular guns, nut airguns.

Water balloons. Some people I know shoot watermelons and cantaloupes, but I would rather eat them. You could shoot boxes of cereal and pretend you are a cereal killer.

I tried flour in dixie cups, but nothing spectacular happened. I was hopping for a cloud of white flour, but the flour just fell to the ground. Shaving cream and antiperspirant do nothing. I tried shooting at Christmas ornaments I bought on close-out for 50 cents a box at Walmart, and those were uneventful also.

A big bag of ice cubes (or even certain types of fruit for fun penetration level testing ) from the dollar store.

if you missed a few small bits when you do your picking up at least you're not leaving plastic bits or other trash around.

Another benefit is it'll keep your soft drinks cold till you get out there shooting.

Tin can at bottom full of water. Empty tin can (same size) on top.
Shoot the bottom can, and the top can goes flying up about 10-15ft.
At least it does with 17 HMR. Way fun.

NECCO Wafers candies are challenging. I put five alligator clips in a 1X2 about 2 1/2" apart, and clip the candy at the bottom, like a lollipop. You can get NECCOs at CVS.

Shotgun hulls, ping pong balls, plastic water bottles (put alka seltzer in to pressurize), gophers.
Use CCI QT .22 so you don't need ear protection, use colibri's for near silent shots.

I like plinking ping pong balls hanging on a string. Reactive target that resets in its own.

Used Keurig pods, pine cones, my favorite for my Red Ryder range are different widths and lengths of 1/8" thick aluminum flat bar hanging from strings. Varying sizes make varying tones and they spin around pretty good when hit.

Make colored ice cubes with food coloring. You can use any plastic tray as a mold. Make the larger ones different colors and make the smaller ones worth more points.

some of these ideas won't work with airsoft guns, unless u are using pellet guns.

Make a lined grid on cardboard with boxes large enough to staple sauce packets. Each person get's a board and 10 packets for the other person to shoot at. It's like a Taco Bell battleship game without a case of bubble guts.

since I started this I did a garage sale clean up round the house. Found an old toy one of the kids had that had little chimes in it. took the idea from Rodneyb to hang them on strings (i used wire) and ring the chimes.
Love the political signs one too. complete with stand and all.
What else ya got?

This guy on YouTube, made a bottle target item. So you use old plastic bottles and pump with air. Then shoot at them. They will make a really large bang. So it is easy to clean up, and you know if you hit the target. He did it with air guns also..

most anything made of PAPER or a biodegradable product.

so many litter or shoot glass, plastic, old computers, and just trash.
what a mess.
even a plywood target / stand, makes a huge mess (more than a air gun here).
even a old cardboard box can be the target stand. just tape a paper target to it.

do not use clays in the desert. takes many decades to break down.

want reactive. get one of those paddle balls from a store. shoot and it moves reusable for a life time. buy once use for decades.

not a eico nut here just so many are trashing our shooting places and this gives fuel to shut them down. so please keep it clean.

Old expired canned food is fun with a .357 magnum at 25 yards. Jaw breakers are great bio degradable targets that shatter. Clay pigeons are awesome with a .22lr at 100 yards. You break them into pieces then break the pieces into pieces. Old 12 gauge hulls at 100 yards with a .22lr is fun too.

Ritz crackers instead of clays. No need to clean up if you don't mind feeding birds and small animals. Take a firring (or Furring) strip and cut it in half, 4-foot length, mount it vertically, then staple Dum-Dum suckers so they stick straight out to the sides. With two of them you can play dueling tree - first one to shot all theirs wins.

Another one for Necco wafers. Just rip a shallow groove the length of a 2x4 for the wafers to sit in. Easy, biodegradable & cheap.
An old deck of playing card with cards missing make good targets if you want to connect with your inner Annie Oakley.

Office chairs, upside down. See how fast you can get the legs spinning.

Christmas ornaments (no offense), they hang well, but messy.

hey y'all great ideas! I like the food types, and wildlife clean up. Also got to try the can on top of a can, that's cool. I must admit I do like shooting 10 meter but I love getting "off target" from time to time and having some fun plinkin'
don't hesitate to add another one if you get a fun idea.
