Other info: I have a 1927 hex receiver Mosin I got about two years ago and I haven’t been able to shoot it. I cleaned all of the cosmolene off it with a heat gun and then haven’t done anything with it since besides checking it periodically and field stripping it to check for rust. So I’m giving up on it to fund other projects. I believe it to be an izhevsk (I will relook at it tomorrow and reference the database although I remember it was not one of the more common ones) and maybe a converted dragoon (due to rollercoaster rear sight). The barrel is pretty damn good there’s no visible pitting or rust on the rifling, it was so good I question whether or not it saw service and it definitely was not counterbored like some I’ve seen before. The bolt isn’t so crappy either, it locks up nicely and the action is pretty good (not a Mauser for sure but I don’t get why everyone *****es about them) and once the cosmolene was cleaned off and it was lubed with Mpro it was pretty smooth. It does have a marking on the receiver that I was unable to cross reference in Mosin databases, but i don’t believe it to be a Finnish recapture, or sniper designation marking although it seems to be a stamp and not something comrade Vasili could have accomplished. It’s finish is pretty good it’s got a few minor scratches and one good scratch on the wood by the rear clamp that keeps the wood together. The bluing is good as well and all parts are matching. It has the dog collar sling, ammo pouches, cable lock(if you need it), crucified bayonet, 120 rounds of 7.62x54R that are noncorrosive primed modern ammo, and an ammo can. I’m trying to get the ammo to go with it but do need to read the laws that went into effect. I’m pretty open to wherever as far as making the transfer as long as it is within OC/LA/part of riverside and San Diego county. Also I can go to proforce for any LEOs or paragods or EMTs trying to get a cheaper DROS. If you are a history nerd or just like wood rifles this one is nice and is basically range ready. If you’re interested message me and I’ll give you my number in order to send pictures.
