The wife and I took our brand new Beretta 92fs inox with us to the range today, and nearly every other mag had a miss load. Also the slide did not lock back a few times after the last round. We were shooting Remington UMC 9mm LUGER 115 gr. MC L9MM3 ammo. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?
Thanks in advance for any help. Some pictures attached. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Have you tried different brand/capacity magazines?

get yourself some mec gars.
Also, UMC isnt exactly the best of ammo in the world. Some people have serious issues with it in there guns.

My 92FS Inox ran flawlessly for ten years until... one time I shot Independence Ammo through it, and had a lot of problems. Switched ammo, and all was well again.
Independence Ammo is cheap crud, worse than Wally World (Federal Champion). I wouldn't call Remington UMC "cheap crud", but it is certainly loaded weaker than most other offerings, on a par with Wally World. Since this is a new pistol and perhaps a little stiff, try using ammo with a little more zip to it, then try going back to the UMC later after the pistol is broken in a little. HTH,

Thanks for the advice so far. Here is a small video of the wife shooting the inox. I think the last shot was a miss load.

if you have factory mag, and the feed lip is not bent, then the first thing you need to look is the mag springs especailly if you have a combination failure of feeding and locking back.
what that tells me is that your mag follower is not properly angle your bullets as its being position to be fed. when angle correctly, the point of contact during feed should land right on the center of the feed ramp of the barrel at a upward angle. also what props the slide lock back is a notch in your mag follower, so if it have insufficient spring force, it will not prop up the slide release. the first thing you should do is disassemble your mag, clean and inspect the spring. if the spring is deform or broken, then replace it with one of wolff's extra power mag spring. since its new, im suspecting that the spring was install backward. Two things come immediately to mind...especially since the gun is new:
1. dirty mags...take them apart and clean the shipping grease out of them 2. underpowered ammo....domestic bulk ammo is notoriously underloaded After cleaning the mags, you can eliminate the ammo as a cause by shooting some defensive loads through the gun The Beretta is famous for it's reliability due to it's non-tilting barrel and the straight-line feed angle from the mag into the barrel

wu_dot_com, now that I think of it you may be right. When I bought the Beretta I had to get the mags as a parts kit since they are let's say (different mags). The sales clerk took them apart while I was not watching, and when I put them together I may have put the spring in back wards. I'll check them out. Thanks for the tip.

My new Beretta Px4 Compact was a little finicky for the first couple hundred rounds too. I would clean the inside of the mags, check the mag springs to make sure they're not backwards, and then shoot something hotter (like WWB) for the first few hundred rounds of brake-in. Maybe also try leaving the slide locked back for a couple days to loosen up the recoil spring a bit.
On a side-note, beautiful gun! Where did you get it? Oh, and what range is that??? Good luck & congrats! Billy |

Just curious, is YSA a shorter drive than SacValley?

I live near the airport off I-5, and YSA is about 16 miles closer to my house than Sac Valley. If you live in the pocket area or near down town it would be about the same distance to either range.

Just wanted to say thank you to all the Cal-gunners out there for the great advice. I followed it all. Took the INOX back out to the range last week. Used the WWB and the new mec gars mags along with the cleaned up factory Beretta mags, and not one miss load. I even shot a box the Remington UMC with out any issues. A friend of mine suggested I buff the lower feed ramp also, which I'm sure helped along with all the other suggestions.
Thanks guys/gals. G
