Wow, that is a huge assumption...and incorrect. You can, and many do, run their bullet button equiped rifles. There are lots of solutions that work pretty well. Plus many of us regularly travel out of state with our rifles for courses, training and competition. It is perfectly fine to like your way better. Not so cool to assume every one else is a plinker though.

Just your average Magpul 14.5 carbine.

JD Machine lower
PSA Magpul MOE lower build kit
Riflegear 14.5 Carbine length upper
MOE carbine hand guards
Pinned YHM 52C flash hider
Eotech 522

My first AR-15, my first AR-15 build, and my first gun, though I have shot other AR-15s before. Can't wait to try this guy out.

...and just because a rifle is featureless doesn't mean he runs it. He could very easily just plink too.

EDIT THIS POST:

I am so glad I took that photo the other day instead of today like I planned at the range.
in an epic attempt to illustrate why "simpler is better" to my friend who was thinking about some tacticool stuff for his AR - I threw my gun on the ground... forgetting the optic was on there... the gun landed straight on the red dot... like fat woman crushing a baby... I cringed for a second then remembered why I was doing this... to prove that if you're afraid to throw your gun then it's just a toy... if I broke the optic then I knew I didn't want that optic.
well... Primary arms Microdot took it LIKE A CHAMP... a couple dents/scratches but held zero perfectly and I now feel even more confident in my "budget" optic

It is a Tros 5 inch barrel with a three lug adapter. The barrel is completely covered by the YHM hand guard. A Gemtech multimount 9mm suppressor is mounted on the barrel. You only see the suppressor out of the hand guard.

It's a DDLES. I'm piecing together the parts for the build. I got it from Riflegear. They are out of stock now. They do have the CMMG dedicated 9mm lower ($60 cheaper). It is the second rifle from the top of the first picture.

Thanks! I saw the CMMG one but after seeing that DDLES I can't go with one that just looks like a regular lower with a 9mm mag sticking out of it.

That is precisely why I purchased the DDLES as soon as I saw it in stock. I should be done with the DDLES build by the end of November.

CMMG and RRA's dedicated 9mm lowers are cut similar to the original Colt dedicated 9mm AR15. I should have bought one back in the days. But if you don't care for the look of a Colt 9mm AR, then the Double Diamond is a cool looking piece.

One thing I don't understand is why CMMG and RRA makes 9mm uppers with two shell reflectors and a forward assist. 9mm carriers don't need nor have forward assist grooves. I went with a Model Sales 9mm upper. It looks pretty close to a Colt SP1 9mm minus the flat top.
