I started out with an AR15. Got boring real fast. Been shooting bolt-action exclusively for the last few years. Love it. That said... for bolt-action discussions I stick to Sniper's Hide, not Calguns. Calguns is the place for *****ing about California and trying to figure out if one's AR is compliant or not

I think the semi auto forum is more active because of the legislative climate

I love my bolts as much as my levers. They are simply accurate. There’s just something about putting a projectile precisely on target. That is something that I can do best with my bolt actions. I have one each in .308 Win, .223 Rem, 8X57 and 22 rimfire.

Last time I was at the range, a guy shot at least 100 rounds without a pause from his AR. He was shooting at a 10 or 12 inch bullseye at 50 yards and his ""group" for all those rounds was not even all on the 14x18 paper... Understandable, I guess, if he frequently shoots like that. Heat mirage off the barrel alone....
