Well, it's no joke..

Got to Orange Turners when they opened.. I was the second person in line.

I asked the guy if they had the S&W lowers and he said "no way".. I said, are you sure.. he said he didn't know anything about lowers other than the Franklin ones but especially not any IN STOCK. He was nice.

After pondering I talked with the manager.. he said "no way we could have some in stock..".. I asked him to look and he was nice enough to do so. As he is logging into thier warehouse he was saying "must be a mistake if someone was sold some, maybe they were "taken" from a customer in line".. I said there should be over 20 in your warehouse.

After a bit he said "holy Fk! we have some!!!"..

So, we all laughed about the customer sometimes being right and I started DROS on TWO S&W lowers at $159.99 each.. I could have bought 5 but I didn't want to be "that guy". There were still over 20 in the warehouse when I left the store 30 minutes ago.

While we were doing paperwork I scouted the room for anyone that looked cool and passed the word around to a few..

Anyways... I got two so big thanks to the OP and those in the thread.

Persistance pays off I guess

Picked up 2 this morning from Pasadena. Prob all gone now since there was a line around the building with people waiting for the store to open for S&W lowers. The secret was out! I love Calguns. Thanks fourloko and ham and the rest of the calgunners on this thread who convinced me to wait in line in
the cold.

Pretty fun to have them look it up and be able to say "I told you so!" even though I didn't really say that.

Two seems to be the magic number but I'm sure I'll regret not getting five but like you said, didn't want to be the greedy bastard. Could be a while before the parts I actually want to use for a build will be around anyway.

::edit::

Glad you got yours lined up rebel. At first I wasn't thrilled about the idea of having the big M&P logo on the side of the lowers but after thinking about it some more I think it will be fun to have the Military & Police model just to make it sound even scarier to the haters.

If they say no, ask them to check the warehouse. Turners FV didnt have any actually in the store but they are in the warehouse and they have serial numbers on-hand so dros can be started.

Yep, got there 15 minutes before opening, took a number, started DROS at 10:28

Also put a deposit down on one of the Franklin Armory jobbers, Christ alone knows if those will come in before any legislation gets passed.

I got mine last night before closing, went back to the "iphone" line at the Pasadena Turners at 9:30am and ordered the billet receiver, I think everyone who showed up by or at opening this morning got a S&W receiver.

Now I can build my first AR, once I find a upper and BCG that I like..

Yes, I was there when they opened, probably about 6 people behind you in the line.

Geared Hub let me know last night that they had lowers in stock, but I'd had a couple of drinks and didn't want to drive, so just made sure I got there first thing this morning.

Pretty sure that's what they were telling people, yeah.

Limit was 2 per person on the billet lowers.

Manager of Orange told me I could buy 5.. I decided to get two.. I think he was just in shock that they had some IN the warehouse..

In 10 days I can finish my AR.. until then I will keep hunting parts for the other builds.. bolt carriers seem to be the hardest to find.

People that think the parts situation won't straighten out eventually are just being hysterical..

Even IF they ban the guns, they wont/cant ban the parts.. so buy the lowers and worst case is build then once the panic is over..

I can't believe people are paying $500 for a BCG.. that's just foolish.

even if diane fails, there will be other eager CA liberals trying to pass new restriction... didn't yee tried to ban some parts in his bullet buttons bill last year??

parts were already in high demand before all this madness last year, especially for higher quality parts...

i won't be paying $500 for a BCG though... ;-)

I pick one up tomorrow along with my windham arms AR I preordered last month, I got lucky because the day I started the DROS on the AR, they had a sign up announcing the lowers in stock for $149! So added that to my my AR DROS and that guarantees me 3 ARs if a ban or some other stupid crap goes down! I tried to notify fellow calgunners on the 11th but I put it under the marketplace deals section! This was at signal hill
