FWIW...
Oleg Volk was at the 2018 Rimfire Challenge World Championship and he's saying the Tippmann Arms M4-22 PRO is the most realistic rimfire AR clone currently available and it has the best designed magazine out of all the rimfire AR style firearms.

Why not just slap a 22 upper on an AR lower for less money?

Complete Tippman is about the same price as good standalone uppers. The magazines they use are the best design I've seen yet. Functionality, esp. bolt stop, are closer to the real thing.

You can get really good complete uppers from Palmetto State Armory for $260.

Having options is a good thing. New firearms, especially ones that we can buy in CA, are always welcomed. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

I'm flush with AR stuff including 22LR so don't need more, but looked at the Tippmann spec's and seems like a good deal for a complete rifle. Aluminum lower and upper, all mil-spec parts except the safety selector but can take std triggers. 4˝ lb single stage trigger on a 5˝ lb rifle not too shabby. I noticed they stamp "auto" in the 3rd FC position just for giggles.

Hope there are no golfers on the greens,LOL I was always taught it was a bad idea to shoot at water. But yes I have done it too.

At that price point, I would build or even consider a SW MP22. SW is alot less.

What makes their mags so great? Just curious.

Best mags I have ever used in my AR22s are hands down SW ones. They have last shot hold open with the addition of a Boonie Adapter.
