Default PCP Air Rifle --- Best Resale

I'm want to try out air rifles.

Which gun or brand has the best resale value? Just in case I change my mind, I need a gun that I'll be able to sell and get money back.

I was thinking about a Benjamin Marauder .177

Quieter the better also.

Less than $700 preferred.

Airguns are like a car, soon as you drive off the lot it lowers in value. Usually high end guns hold value especially if it something sought after or custom. You could start off buying something used to begin with. Check Airgun Warriors classifieds or the gateway to airguns forum classifieds for used deals.

Or wait for Black Friday deals in a couple months. There were some awesome deals last year. I second the Marauder but in .22 caliber. That would make a great pesting rifle and good as a SHTF small game hunter. Very quiet and impressively accurate at 50 yards.

I don't know but if a rifle isn't quiet enough for you, most of them can be fitted with aftermarket "Lead Dust Collectors" that can make them super-quiet. I have a .25 Synthetic Marauder with factory shrouded barrel and it's quiet enough for me.

You can't go wrong with a Marauder. They're relatively inexpensive and they shoot great.

No there's no difference between the sound profile on my 177 and my 22 marauder.

Marmot Militia also makes a 2 baffle LDC extension if you want to take it down another notch. With the extension, the sound of the pellet striking the target makes a louder noise than the Marauder firing. Stealth is the forte of the Marauder.

Also check the classified on the yellow board, should be fairly easy to pick up a lightly used Mrod. Go with 25cal if you are considering pesting. Otherwise the 22 is plenty good and the 177 is as well (and freakishly accurate... like 22cal sized 5 shot groups at 20 yards with the right pellet)

M-rod or Hatsan will do fine. I went with a hatsan. The entire setup (rifle, scope, mounts, hand pump) was closer to $600, I think.

OP - The Benjamin Fortitude is a new model that might be worth considering. It's available in 177 or 22 and has a lot to offer for a $300 PCP. It comes Regulated from the Factory and has a ten shot rotary magazine. In 177, it's claimed to get 90 shots per 3000psi fill.

Marauder is the benchmark for quiet, and against which, all others are compared.

Don’t bank on resale. I sold my buddy’s $1800 FX for $800 recently and that took a couple months.

After shooting his airguns, edgun, FX, ataman I realized my marauder wasn’t as accurate as I thought it was lol

If you’re concerned about noise get a moderator and you will be amazed. Stand up seller here.

I have a marauder pistol in .22 cal that Iím willing to part to add to my FX Impact fund. Itís backyard quiet. It has a LDC on and and an AR style buttstock. PM me for pictures and more info.

Iíve taken squirrels, dives, rabbits, out to 50-80 yards. Make your own decision. Watch YouTube and search for p-rod.

Btw did I mention you can fold the stock? Yes it does. RAI folding stock.

OP mentioned resale. Everyone wants a Marauder. I'm guessing asy to get good price when selling.

The 25% coupons at Cabelas, and AJ can save $. They sometimes have Benjamins on sale too.

When Cabelas sells Benjamins, they ship from the factory and there is a week extra days wait.

You can also get 25% off at Crosman/Benjamin by using code AGNATION and if you order on Fridays, you get free shipping on orders over $150.

Don't bother with a wimpy 177. Get a .22 or .25. My first was a 177 and I sold that and never went back. I have a .25 M rod and a .22 Beeman Rapid 12 shrouded.

Get a Mrod. You can find used ones for a good price.
Oh I forgot to mention the black hole in your wallet after you buy a PCP. Now you need a air tank and then you'll find it is a hassle to fill at a shop so then you will want to get a compressor to fill it. LOL

Just finished setting up and testing a .22 MRod. (literally, in the last couple of hours) This one was ordered from the custom shop with the Lothar Walther barrel, regulated, with Mossy Oak stock. My first experience with PCP stuff.

Very accurate, and very quiet. Highly recommend.
