Default Please rank your top 2 AR-15 LPK's

Putting together my first AR, and looking to get some advice from some experienced calgunners out there, so in your opinion what is the best LPK with a max budget of $125 give or take. I have talked with a few people and from what they say, I have been told to stay away from the DPMS kit, and a few have suggested the CMMG kit. Tell me what you think the top 2 are.

I've had DPMS and have no problems...keeping that in mind, I usually buy DD ($82 at Midway) if I can find 'em.

Regardless, I always do a JP trigger so I guess it doesn't matter much.

Spikes tactical enhanced kit. A little pricey but top notch with lots of upgrades like ambi safety, ergo grip and nickle boron battle trigger. If not that then a Daniel defense LPK.

I just installed the Daniel Defense LPK from Midway for $82 in my Noveske build. Quality stuff.

+1 for PSA MOE kit. Have a few, both work great. Also have a basic RRA kit w/ single stage trigger which works well also. Hard to beat ~$45 for a parts kit + MOE grip and triggerguard though.

Bought DMPS standard LPK 3 times. Last 2 gave me really out of spec roll pins.

Bought cmmg repair kit, my pistol lower uses screw on the BHO latch so don't have to hammer a roll pin in.

+1 on the PSA MOE LPK it's a fantastic deal if you buy it with the stock!

Second choice would be PSA A2 LPK for featureless builds

I have used the PSA LPK and JP LPK W/O trigger, I felt the JP parts were better quality than the PSA.

Daniel Defense LPK. Prolly true that you can get an outta spec. Part with any Kit. I`ve seen my share of outta spec parts, not with DD yet.

PSA MOE LPK when they are on sale. Can't beat them for the price. I always use RRA roll pins instead of the PSA ones though. The RRA coil type go in easier than anything else.

That being said, even though your budget is capped at $125, I think its worth spending a little extra on the PSA kit with Gisselle trigger.

PSA LPK (the MOE version as well just to save a little on the MOE grip if you want one) w/o the trigger and then an ALG Combat Trigger.

I Just built this about an hour ago.. Its an 80% with a Palmetto State Armory Premium Classic Lower Build Kit.. I did a DIY trigger job on the trigger and it feels awesome...For the 80.00 I paid for it I think I did real good, and and thats the complete lower kit..
Cant wait to test it out asap..

Daniel Defense if you can find them. Also I've built two with JP LPK minus trigger with an ALG Defense Milspec Trigger. JP $38.95 + ALG $45.00=$83.95. Best value and quality so far, trigger feels great. They are available at Riflegear.

I've had a couple of real nice Bushmaster RAW's since before Y2K and just completed my first OLL build the other day. Not really knowing what was the best and availability being spotty for everything, I bought a DPMS LPK. That was a mistake. I don't expect the trigger to be great, especially compared to the Bushy components and one with a Jewell 2 stage, but it really sucks. The safety is a grungy feeling POS and wanders a bit and the general fit and function of the other components are marginal, at best. Now that it's done, I'm gonna get something much better and throw the DPMS crap in the trash.

This thread will most helpful now.

I've built both DD and PSA, and PSA while a bargain is far from good compared to DD. Check my comparisons on the two on this thread. PSA is a mixed bag of milspec and non-milspec parts.

I've used DPMS, Stag, and PSA MOE lpks. The only one I've had an issue with was the PSA one. The safety selector was out of spec so once assembled I couldn't switch between safe and fire. I had to file the groove a little bit to get it to work.

What about an AR-10? Do we have options? I want to build my DPMS pattern lower with quality parts.
