Default Good ranges in Sac?

I’m traveling to sac for NYE and plan to take a friend shooting. Where is the best range for shooting rifle and pistol? I plan on going Saturday.

Sac Valley is a little outside of Sacramento but a really good outdoor range.
The Gun Range in North Sac is pretty good indoor range
Sacramento Gun club is also a good range located near Rancho Cordova.

Then there is also the drive up to Bonetti Road by Jenkinson lake.

Sac valley is the best range in the entire region, no question about that. A bit of a drive though.

Yolo county sportsman association is good. Outdoor ranges, $9 all day.

I'd check the Cordova Shooting Center too, which is also outdoor.

The Gun Range on Watt, near I80 is a good choice.

And they are usually open on New Year's Day, early. Now THAT's a test of being a real shooter and not a 'wannabe".

(Call ahead to find out hours on NYE and NYD)

Another vote for Sac Valley! You can even go out to 300 yards. They just make you get a card by showing them a 100 yard target so they know you can hit paper.

I could be a creepy dude in his mom’s basement.

I’ve heard from the salty old dudes that Sac Valley is one of the nicest ranges in the country, not just the state. I don’t even get on an actual freeway now to get to it, but we used to leave San Jose before 0500 to get there to shoot matches. They have real bathrooms, which is really nice, too.

Sac Valley is definitely worth the drive. The Gun Range will be a zoo but if you go, look for discarded number tags on the floor. It's saved me hours of waiting in the past

Dillman Range aka Lincoln Rifle Club. Pistol, shotgun and rifle. 200 yard. Very controlled by the RSO. $15 but have military discount. Will even loan you spotting scope, ear and eye protection.

Also the Oroville Rabe Rd range. Some benches, no RSO but civilized. 550 yds. Free. Crowded after 11 am but worth getting up early to shoot long.

Folks,

On the Sac Valley 300 yard range, I think the rules have changed lately, so check the website if you haven't been there in a while. I think you have to review the new 300 yard range policy at the range office and be re-certified.

The rule is basically you have to be able to accurately hit your target at 100 yard to get signed off by a RSO. Then you can shoot on the 300 yd range

Is there anywhere in the area to rent an action pistol bay for use by two people?

There's Sac Valley of course, but it looks like you have to be a voting member, which is tough to do. As I'm planning to move later this year, it doesn't make much sense to try and start the process.
