Default Paperwork lookup.

Anyone getting an increase in the number of requests for looking up old paperwork for registering their AWs? If so are you charging them a fee? Obviously 1 or 2 requests now and then isnt a big deal but as the dead line nears it could get out of hand.

Yes, but what are you having to look up? DROS is in the DES system so that takes me a couple seconds. I don't have any DROS hardcopy pre 9/1/2014 (shredded).

We don't charge a fee since it only takes a few seconds to look up. Also our A&D log is electronic so for a few we just lookup serial number to give them their acquisition date.

I guess if it took more than 1-2 mins to do I may consider charging, but I'm doing these requests as we have time vs priority.

Truthfully, we've only had 2 requests so far. Most people are going featureless/fixed mag.

Electronic bound book, takes 20 seconds to give them a date.

We just consider it part of the full service we offer to customers.

Our bound book is a hard copy and thats the official book. However, we maintain a computerized record in our pawn system that should make it easy. However records that are not in pawnmaster or the DES will not be available as we have stored old bound books and destroyed DROS records that are over 3 years old. And as a side bar to keep customer records confidential we will not be providing any record searches via the telephone. You must come down here with your ID. We would not want to compromise any of our customers info. I would not want another dealer compromising my info so we will not set ourselves up for that situation here.
