Definitely contacting him. I'm thinking Sniper Grey frame w/ matching slide and blacked out controls. Not sure yet.

Lets hear some ideas, we have a couple months of planning ahead of us...

+1 for Paul at OC Cerkoting.

I have 5 pistols in with Paul right now. Three of which will have Sniper Gray frames and slides. The 1911 will have all of the controls coated in bright satin aluminum. The Beretta and Sig will have graphite black controls with bright satin on the trigger and hammer. The revolver was a basket case. It's getting all of the rust and pitting bead blasted off (by Paul), then coated in Graphite black. The wife's Tomcat is being coated in baby pink with white controls and grips. All of the semis are getting at least one matching mag as well.

I should have them back this time next week. I will post pics here when they are done.

Have a great day.

Can't wait to see them. Everything I've seen done by him has been awesome.

Thanks for the input!

Honestly, neither can I. I eagerly anticipating the call to come pick them up. The pink color on the Tomcat is a custom color too. He is able to color mix upon request to get just the right hue if desired.

I will keep you posted. Have a great day!

Was wondering if we could get an update on how we are coming along with this GB?

Thanks.

Order ETA's
Both vendors have given me a 3 month eta from the time we place/pay for the order which will be right around March 10th.
So that sounds like mid to late june to me

That info was there way before the close of the GB. I'm just wondering if the vendors have been paid or are we still waiting for the rest of the payments to come in and if we have an updated ETA. Not being impatient here (I'm still waiting for all my Ares frames from ares GB1), just want to know what is up.

I backed out of this group buy, but now I'm banging my head that I did. This group buy has a solid coordinator who has a solid history of coming through. KTO has been through the ATF battle and overcame it to soldier on. I can say without second guessing, Aimsmall is a stand up dude and this gb will go off without a hitch as other seperate KTO and Aimsmall gb's have been ran pretty Damn well.

With that said I may be in the market for one of these frames again, if any one may have found out they bought too many...hint hint...

KTO and RIA were both paid in full on March 11th and both have confirmed the ETA of 3 months from that date is still accurate. I'm also working on putting together a 1911 magazine GB

762shooter: from my past experience with aims in GB (this would be my 3rd or 4th) when he says its going out, it usually means its going out. he dont mess around and he seems to be on top of things. i would say if KTO and RIA stick to their 3mo eta, im hoping to see parts come in around june - july maybe sooner if the manufactures get caught up with back orders and this craziness stops but thats just wish full thinking. i have been noticing a lot of other stuff starting to come back in stock here and there so maybe just maybe.......

on a side note, you guys should go to brownells and get their 1911 catalog. everything u need is in there.

Thanks for putting this GB together and keeping track of everything. June seems like so far away, but I know it will be here in a blink. Now I just gotta start stockpiling .45.

Had a chance to handle the almost-completed 1911 over the weekend that AIMSMALL built with this frame/kit and I'm in love. June can't come fast enough, this will be my birthday present to myself

Not to jump the gun, but referring to the thread below. How might this affect the completion of these frames?

I wouldn't panic yet.

I believe 80% arms manufacturers their own 80% and hosted build parties. The ATF has established you as an 80% mfr can't host build parties.

Take a look at this update, 80% arms is trying to source another machine shop to offer finishing services:

The letter that was received by “80% Arms”, stating that they cannot complete these lowers, is due to the fact that they do not have the proper FFL and setup. You CAN still mill these paperweights out at a company who has the proper licensing or proper setup such as Arms Specialty and Tool in Orange.

The “manufacturing license” is needed if a shop is making 80% lowers and then completing them. You cannot make 80% lowers and then complete them in the same shop. This is just logical that a shop doing both is technically make 100% lowers and thus considered a manufacturer. However, it is still legal for one shop to make 80% lowers and another shop to rent the machine so that you can complete your personal lowers.

We already have enough laws governing our “freedoms” let’s not exaggerate or add to these laws with our personal commentaries. Let’s try to keep it to the facts.

If anyone has information contrary to what is stated above, please correct me and send me your source for the information. My source of information comes from the Santa Ana ATF field office.

Hope this helps.
