I can cut a happy face with any one of my 3 .40 caliber Glocks. Biggest problem I see is either being skittish of it and pushing the barrel down in anticipation of the boom or the usual pulling the barrel up when squeezing the trigger. I've done both and after several range trips I'm more relaxed and steady with them.

Meh. I used to be an "anything less than a 45 won't do the job" kinda guy myself, actually. (I grew up with the 1911.) It took a couple of decades, but I got over it.

its because the 9mm is cheaper to shoot , not because its a better round and less recoil

That and the simple fact that it's been around forever already, same as the .45

I used to be in the anti-40 camp but I recently bought a Glock 22. If you should the 180 gr loads, its quite pleasant. the 155 and 165 gr loads give you more of the snap that 40 is known for.

My only .40 is a Kel-Tec P-40. I had planned to buy the 9mm P-11 but talked myself into the .40 at time of sale. A 14oz .40 is really unpleasant to shoot, so I picked up a 9mm conversion kit and have stuck with that. I'd like to try .40 again but maybe in a Glock, certainly not the Kel-Tec.
