Default CCW-OC What are my chances?

I live in OC, have been considering getting my CCW for a while now and the more I research the more I think I'm going to give it a shot. I currently work in LA county at one of the casinos I wont name, but its not the best area in the world. I have been followed home multiple times, threatened on the floor (I'm a dealer we are regularly threatened with "Ill see you in the parking lot" or things like that). And now our casino's policy has changed so we park on site and must walk though the customer lot to reach our vehicles, pretty awesome. This is a cash business, I have cash on me every day when I leave anywhere from a few hundred to over a thousand.

I've also attempted to get a restraining order on a in-law who just walked into my home and threatened to kill himself in front of my wife and daughter. I say attempted because he was homeless and we were unable to serve him the papers unless he showed back up, but he was arrested and we haven't seen him since luckily. Restraining order fell through after that.

The problem is short of the failed restraining order I don't have documentation for any of this. I cant prove anyone has followed me home, I cant prove the threats of violence in the workplace because all of that is regularly swept under the rug. And the most I can do about the cash I carry is show deposits but I'm not even sure I carry enough cash for them to even care honestly, its rarely over a thousand.

Should I even bother?... or should I just wait and attempt to get documentation of a threat at work or somehow document someone following me home?

Perhaps post this in the Orange County sub forum, the guys there will be able to help. From what I understand just a statement of good cause is all you need in the OC. Well that, a little money, and the patience of Job.

Good luck.

If you can verify your employment and prove the cash, you will likely be given a permit.

Op give it a go. I work nights and used that as part of my good cause. Oc is handing them out if you can articulate any decent reason. I think you have a good chance.

Does OC call your workplace and make them sign off on the ccw since it's work related?

I used work as one of my reasons and they did not call my work. They did ask me to get a letter from my boss stating I was an employee.

They don't call your employers but will ask for pay stubs which shouldn't be too hard to get.

How is your employer going to feel about you having a firearm on their property?

Hard to say at this point honestly, but I wouldn't carry on the casino floor anyhow... I know someone higher than me has a conceal license I was hoping to talk to him about it at some point and figure out if this would even be possible. Worst case I can have a safe in my vehicle bolted to the frame haha

I highly recommend you to take a 2 hour free pre CCW class with Artemis Defense Institue in Lake forest. They will help you.

Just remember this, what you list for good cause has to have supporting documents that YOU actually do it. Your GC sounds like a legit reason.

OP, the details you've described above would seem to meet the OCS Policy 218 qualifications for a CCW.

Nothing to it but to do it. Best success!

You don't need the RO. You just need witnesses to the occurrence that led to the RO being desired. A letter from your superior stating your compensation and previous targeted threats from customers would be very beneficial.
