Default Sacramento Chapter - Monthly Shoot

Sacramento Chapter - Monthly Shoot

Hello my fellow Gunners. In the past few months we have been to the Sac Gun Club (Rancho Cordova) and The Gun Range (North Highlands), does anyone have a request or suggestion on where we should meet next? Send in your thoughts and we can plan a few gatherings for November and December.

I've never been to a monthly shoot, but if enough people were interested, it would be fun to rent one of the private ranges at Sac Valley on a Saturday and shoot steel.

At the last event, we had a pretty good turn out (10-12 I think).

That sounds like a good idea to me. Do you know how much rental would be? If not, I can call and find out.

You'll need a voting member to reserve it. Rental fee is 14 a person, no fmj on the steel range.

Thank you NCRT. Is there a minimum number of attendees we need to reserve a range?

I've never been out to Sac Valley yet and shootng steel would be a fun experience. Having it on a Saturday would be ideal for me. I'm sure I could rustle up a couple of buddies to come with me if we are short on the minimum attendance.

Steel targets require a whole other set of safety rules. What are Sac Valley's policies for it? Do we need to shoot frangible or hollow-points?

Rodney, I have the T-Shirt donation, BTW.

I am going to call sac Valley on Wednesday. I will ask the rules regarding range rental. Unless someone already knows and is willing to share their knowledge.

I've hit the 100 and 300 yard ranges out there but not the 1000 yard range. Need a member for that.

I would like to go somewhere with a 50 and 100 yard. I need to sight in my .308 at 100 yards, and my AR at 50. 25 yard pistol range would be cool too, that would also allow .22 shooting.

Lincoln is a great range. We can set something up there as well.

I'd be up for a shoot at the Lincoln Gun Range, never been there.

I'd be up for the Dillman Range in Lincoln. I haven't been there in a while. I remember the RSO's could be difficult sometimes, but they are very safety conscious. They don't allow rapid fire, but I heard a rumor that they have a steel target out there. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Their insurance requires two people unless you carry your own insurance, than you can go solo. You'll still need a voting member to reserve the range. You may be able to call and setup some type of event that doesn't require a voting member, but that's past my knowledge.

If you bring your own they want to see it first. If it's their steel, no fmj and magnum rounds basically. Also some private ranges have restriction due to proximity to other ranges, such as shotguns on pistol bays can only use birdshot on steel.

We have held them on both weekdays and weekends. In the coming months, we will try to hold 2 a month. 1 weekday evening and 1 weekend morning/mid-day, per month.
