Default Archery store recommendations?

Anybody want to recommend an archery store around Sacramento (within and hours drive)? Did the Google thing and didn't see much...

I'm not into archery but I know Sportsmans Warehouse in Rocklin and Rancho Cordova both have a good selection.

Yeah, I was there today (Rancho). My only complaint is they really didn't have anything but PSE bows. I am hoping someone has a lead on some small shop that I'm unaware of.

Wild Bills has been expanding into archery but I don't know how far he's gotten. Haven't been in there in a few months.

In Chico there is Deer Creek Archery. Small shop with great service. But it is a 1.5 to 2 hour drive from Sac.

Funny you mentioned that place. I actually live in the foothills and cut across 88 to head to the Bay for work occasionally. Last two times I've gone by was after they were closed.

Wilderness Archery in Rocklin and Jerry's Archery in Stockton are both pretty good. Since someone already posted Wilderness' info, I'll post just Jerry's.

Jerry's Archery
636 W Fremont St,
Stockton, CA 95203

This place is only about 10 minutes from my house, so I stopped in there. I was looking around and waiting for someone to say something to me (I was checking the bow selection). There was one lady working that was on the phone the whole time I was there, she walked past me, started turning off the lights and was waiting at the end of the isle for me to leave... It was kind of bizarre. I was there 20 minutes before closing, waited every bit of 15 minutes for help and really didn't even get a hello.

That's what actually prompted me to start this thread. I like shopping local, but I also like a little customer service. I'm not a needy person that requires attention, but do like the ability to ask someone a question.

Thanks!
you caught someone at the end of their shift when they are most likely mentally drained. maybe next time just ask the person for help instead of waiting for them to come to you?

Thanks!

I live about 15 minutes from this place and haven't been in there since it changed hands. I keep wanting to check out the indoor pistol range but just end up at The Gun Room. This Ione shop is only open one Saturday a month.

Predator Archery in Gilroy. Yes it's a drive, but it's a great shop, the best I've been to in the bay

Just wanted to recommend Wilderness Archery to anyone looking for an archery store. I bought a used compound bow last year (knowing nothing about archery) and took it in to them to get it fine tuned. The staff there worked with me for over an hour adjusting and tweaking every little thing and then basically gave me a lesson on how to hold/shoot it for another 30 minutes. They recommended some options but at no point did I ever feel any sales pressure. The price for all this information and assistance? ZERO.
Rarely have I ever been treated this well by any company. And because of it, they now have a customer for life. I will recommend them whenever I can.

Absolute and Wilderness are both really good, locally owned, very helpfull and both have indoor ranges as well. Just depends on what is closest to you. Sportsman's is O.K. and they have a decent selection of parts and arrows. They actually carry their own brand of arrows that are manufactured by Carbon Express IIRC.
