Default Police Credit Union

Thinking about applying for this bank. I've heard mostly good things. I wanted to get other perspectives from the Calguns trust.

Any bad or good experiences with the Police Credit Union?

Never even heard of them. Are they on line only?

Are you talking about CAHP credit union? Haven’t dealt with them either, but also heard tons of good things.

The Police Credit Union of California. They have a few locations in the bay area and you must be active or retired LEO. I've heard their rates are usually pretty good with home and auto loans.

I should be in contact with them in a few days and I can report back.

If they have good rates on their loans and savings accounts, then I'd say go for it. I would ask if they participate in shared branching and if they're a part of the co-op network. If they are, you can conduct transactions at other credit unions and use their ATMs.

From what I read on their website, they are in a co-op network of some sort. I haven't gotten the details yet but they allow fee free withdrawals from atms.

They used to be SF Police Credit Union and they are good to go. They only have a few branches mostly in the Bay Area but have shared branch relationships with many credit unions nationwide. Their rates are competitive for loans etc. Nice people overall. Go to the one on Irving Street in SF and get some BBQ pork bow a few blocks away. I've been a member for at least 15 years.

Credit unions are NOT banks. They are customer-owned nonprofits. There is a CU network where you can make deposits and withdrawals and every 7-11 is in the network.

Iíve had them for about two years. They are honestly amazing. I have a credit card and auto loan with them and they are more than willing to help; also they have extremely good rates.

Entirely worth it.

I am a former Marine so I'm in the Navy Federal Credit Union and a 45 year member there. Great service and I recommend Credit Unions highly.
