Default Snagmag versus Neomag

This topic was posted a few years ago. Wondering if anyone has any recent experience or insight you would like to share on either of these? Any other suggestions? I'm looking for alternative to the wasteband.

I have a Snagmag. Unless you pull back at an extreme angle as you retrieve the mag the entire thing comes out of your pocket. I would have sent it back if they weren't going to charge a restock and return shipping. The idea is solid, execution sucks. Easy enough to replicate if one has the materials to mold Kydex.

I also have a snagmag, it holds the magazine too high for me, you can see the top of the magazine if you were observant. And as RobG says the clip holding it to the pocket is weak. I would not buy again.

They also make a clip strip for revolvers that Iíve heard nothing but good things about.. The owner seems to be a nice guy. He designs and makes them all in his garage

Default We understand...

As the original pocket mag holster to utilize a knife clip, we knew others would come along. We understand that the SnagMag isnít for everyone. Itís simply an option for carrying that all important back up magazine. Neomag has been an honest competitor, and we wish them all the best in their business.

Iíd like to address a couple of the comments on this thread.
If you contact me at snagmag@live.com, I can make sure you have the appropriate model for your magazine. A proper fit is key, and your mag shouldnít sit too high.

We believe in 100% customer satisfaction and have never charged restocking fees. Iím not sure about our retailers, but if you contact me directly, we offer hassle free returns and refunds. You should spend your money on something you use confidentlyb every day. No matter what you choose, train with it.

When my husband created the SnagMagy over 7 years ago, he was actually just making one for himself. He had no intention of creating a product for retail. Key people in the gun industry saw it and urged us to start a company. Since my husband works full time in law enforcement, I had to quit my teaching job, and run the business full time. Itís been a pretty awesome journey so far.

Kindest regards,
Christine Rogers

Thanks for the link. I have two of the NeiMags. Just didn't recall the name.

Won't work on Glock mags..

So I am making due with a SnagMag.

Think I might have the wrong models of both for my Glock 17 Standard Magazines.

I will post results of those interactions.

Default NeoMag Update

Neomag came in today. It functions as advertised. The clip is strong. Once you put it on, its not going anywhere. The magnet works really good. I shook it around a little and my mag stayed in place. In your pocket your magazine is even more secure, but it slides out really easily when you retrieve it. Unless you're upside down I don't see how your mag could be displaced. I ran up and down the stairs at the office.....no problems. Standing, sitting, walking.....you barely know its there. Keep in mind I'm trying it out on an 8rd single stack Shield magazine in 9mm. I'll try a full sized double stack later. I got the extended clip. Even with the extension on the 8rd mag, it sits better than 1/2 inch below my pocket. Without a jacket or shirt covering your pocket, your magazine is still out of site.

One drawback I'm seeing so far is that you're giving up your front pocket. I can wiggle my hand in there but as soon as you grab whatever you're after, its hard to get your hand out without dislodging your magazine. I tried to pull out a wad of cash and my magazine started to slide out with my hand. The other drawback is the price. I'm still crying over it.

Overall I'm satisfied. Its a very simple but effective solution for my problem. I didn't want a mag pouch on my belt. I didn't like carrying extra mags in my backpack. And I hated carrying loose mags in my pocket. Bingo Bongo Bango. Neomag. If this thing was in the $22 price range I'd be extremely satisfied. As of now I'm just plain satisfied. I'm guessing this little gadget will be leaving the house with me everyday.

Thanks for the review. I don't carry anything in the same pocket as my mag so as not to dislodge the mag.
