Default Buying primed brass on line.

I know I can't buy ammo on line anymore, but what about primed brass? Technically they are components, but they are partially assembled.

Thanks

Still perfectly legal. They are still components. No legislation "against".

Unlike the magazine ban. And laws against "magazine kits".

Technically, as you pointed out, primed brass is NOT ammunition.

"Ammunition" is defined at PC 16150 (a)
Quote:
16150.

(a) As used in this part, except in subdivision (a) of Section 30305 and in Section 30306, “ammunition” means

one or more loaded cartridges consisting of
-- a primed case,
-- propellant,
-- and with one or more projectiles.

“Ammunition” does not include blanks.
(re-arranged for clarity)

16150(b) applies only to 'prohibited persons'.

Perfectly legal but I suggest you buy as many as you can afford before they dream up a law outlawing it. Components will no doubt be next on their list in the future with Grabbin' Gavin in control.

Actually you can buy ammo online, just like you can buy a gun online. And the process is almost the same, the ammo is shipped to your local FFL who will charge you a fee and then release it to you.

Primed brass can be shipped without hazmat, whereas uninstalled primers require hazmat. Why? I dunno, that's just how it is.
