Here is my R700 built by Marc of Spartan Precision out of Concord, Ca.
-Factory trued action
-Tuned 40X trigger
-Bartlein 5R 24" .308 barrel
-Badger FTE brake
-KRG Bolt Lift
-Premier Heritage 5x25 from CS Tactical

So how does it shoot?

.572" 3 shot group @ 200 yards, prone, no artificial rear support

.112" 3 shot group @ 200 yards, prone, rear bag and bipod used.

The above groups were shot at Sacramento Valley Shooting Center this past weekend using factory Black Hills .308 175 gr. Match ammunition.

Nice! M200s are on their way to being collectors items, especially with the Lawton LRBT grooved barrels

Not a great photo, but here's mine....

LRB/Smith Enterprise built M14 "Crazy Horse" with all the goodies. Shoots quarter size 5-shot groups, and I know the shooter (me) is the limiting factor.

How are you liking the CDI DBM for the 8400? Did you need to mod the receiver at all?

Curious, I have the same model.

Its been a great addition to the rifle and I have to say I luv it. There were though some minor mods that had to be done before it worked correctly.

Stock had to be cut/modded for the bottom metal to fit. (I sent the stock to CDI for that)
Magazines had to be lightly filed on the top front so they would click in without extra force.
The OEM screws did not fit and the replacements needed to be filed down a bit so that they didn't touch the bolt when torqued.

All and all it was minor mods for such a great upgrade.

Cheers!

Wow. No mods to the actual receiver? I may have to get one of these.

I'm sorry but I'm not 100% sure what you are referring to as the receiver, Are you referring to the Action, or the bottom trigger plate? if its the Action your referring to then no, no mods to the Action are required. If your referring to the bottom trigger plate then once again no mods are required to that as well since the CDI system includes a new bottom plate in their kit.

Cheers!

Oops. Yah I meant action. My brain has turned off for spring break

Well, I will have to look into getting one of these since I have access to a mill.

Thanks for the info. How is your Kimber shooting? Mine is loving the Lapua 155s and Sierra 155 (2156) and IMR 4064.

Edit: P.S. Where/how much did you have to file on the AI mags?

She's been shooting great. Been trying to get a full day out to map out a couple ladders but recently I've been getting good results at 700-1000 yards using the Hornady 178 gr Amax and H4895

I picked up the Magazines from CDI as well, a little pricey but worth it.

Cheers!

Rail is an adapter piece from Atlas that fits into the inset Freeland rail in the forend. I am liking this setup so far.

2500 yards supersonic oh yeah.

Barrett m82a1 topped off with a Nightforce 5.5x22x56mm Awesome power! Only taken it to 600 yards. I want to try 2000+ yards one day. I need more trigger time. I have the ammo. Just not the time. I'm thinking of CERAkoteing it multicam. Just need time.

Nice rifles, but the scope you call "cheapo scope" is the most expensive scope I own. lol
Yes, I am looking into buying a Nightforce scope for my Remington, but for know the Nikon is suffient. And hey it works and it works good. I don't have any complaints about it, do you?
Otherwise nice rifle!

I think the Buckmasters are a good scope for the money. I have shot a few other Nikons that I thought were crap.

Default Precision Scope?

US optics or Nightforce for tactical or Schmidt and Bender or leupold I have one to several of each and for the money I like Nightforce! Look at a IOR the glass comes from the same place Schmidt and Bender's comes from. I took a tour of the factory in Romania a few years ago. nice equipment. They changed the way scopes a made 7 and 8x multiplier. Food for thoughtBarrett 037.jpg
